ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Christian Brothers junior Caroline Gross broke up a no-hitter with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the to spur a three-run outburst to lift the Bucs to a 4-3 win over Midwestern State Saturday afternoon at Dee White Field.
The Mustangs suffered their fourth consecutive one-run loss to fall to 1-6, while CBU won its second game of the day to improve to 3-7.

The Bucs loaded the bases with just one out to set up Elaina McGill's go-ahead, two-run single to left field to put CBU up 4-3 heading into the seventh inning.

- Junior starter Melea Rodriguez took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. The right-hander allowed four runs -- all earned -- on three hits with three strikeouts. She issued two walks and hit two batters. Her wild pitch in the first inning resulted in CBU's first run scored of the game without benefit of a hit.

Bailey Brenek produced her fifth multiple-hit game of the season. She finished 2-for-4 with doubles in consecutive at bats in the fourth and fifth innings. Brenek's RBI two-bagger to the right-field gap in the fifth drove in
Ashley Turner to give MSU a 3-1 lead.

Payton Griffin broke out with her first two hits of the season against Christian Brothers. The junior from Sherman has reached base in five of her last seven plate appearances after drawing three walks earlier in the day at Ouachita Baptist.

Ashley Turner extended her hitting streak to nine games reaching on a bunt single to lead off the fifth inning. She stole second base of the season and came around to score on
Bailey Brenek's double to the right-field gap.

Paige Bryant legged out her first triple of the season in the second inning.

Daylan Inkman put the Mustangs up 2-1 with a run-scoring double in the fourth inning.
- Christian Brothers starter Kelsey Wurm evened her season record at 2-2. The right-hander allowed three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts. She issued three walks and hit a pair of batsmen.

Midwestern State concludes the HSU/OBU Tournament with a pair of games on Sunday at Dee white field. The Mustangs take on Henderson State at 10 a.m. before facing No. 20-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville at 12:30 p.m.
