Dyamon Griggs posted her second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and senior forward
Mandy Withey finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds — both career highs — as Midwestern State coasted to an 83-43 victory over a shorthanded and undersized Dallas Christian team Monday night at D.L Ligon Coliseum.
HOW IT HAPPENED >>>
Dallas Christian only had six players available for the game, and did not have a player that stood taller than 5-6.
Midwestern State went on a 10-0 run in the first quarter as Griggs scored seven points and junior guard
Natalie Stice added a 3-pointer. The Mustangs led at the end of the first quarter, 21-15.
Midwestern State outscored the Crusaders in the second quarter, 22-8, and led by 20 at halftime. Withey had 12 points and nine rebounds in the first half.
Stice was 4 of 7 from the field, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and scored 10 first-half points for the Mustangs.
Griggs was 6 of 11 from the field and scored 12 points in the second half. The 5-11 freshman also pulled down six rebounds in the second half.
Mustangs held Dallas Christian to 9-of-31 shooting from the field in the second half and outscored the Crusaders in the fourth quarter, 20-8.
Midwestern State closed the game on a 7-0 run, and the Crusaders only made one of their final nine shots from the field.
Naiya Brown scored 14 points, and Hope Thomas finished with 12 points for DCC.

⁃ Griggs made a career-high nine field goals on a career-high 17 attempts.
⁃ Griggs also had career highs with 10 rebounds and three assists.
⁃ Withey posted her third career double-double and her second of the season.
⁃ Stice scored in double figures for the sixth consecutive game, finishing with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting overall. She was 2 of 5 from 3-point range.
⁃ Stice had a career-high five blocks for the Mustangs, who finished with 10 blocks in the victory.

Makenzee Boucher had a career high three steals, and the Mustangs finished with 13 steals as a team.
GAME NOTES >>>
⁃ Midwestern State scored a season-high 83 points, surpassing the 82 it scored in a double-overtime victory against St. Mary's on Dec. 12.
⁃ MSU earned its second-straight home victory and is 2-4 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum this season.
⁃ Mustangs have won both meetings in the all-time series by an average of 60 points
⁃ Dallas Christian fell to 0-9 on the season and is 0-5 on the road.
