WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's
Logan Epes hit five 3-pointers to lead a group of five Mustangs in double figures in an 89-31 win over Randall Monday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The Mustangs delivered an historic defensive effort holding the Saints to the fewest points by an opponent during the shot clock era. The shot clock was introduced to the college game in 1985-86.

Midwestern State scored the first 13 points, then sustained runs of 15-0, 7-0, and 13-0 to take a 48-11 halftime lead.
The Mustangs limited Randall to 19-percent shooting (11-for-58) as the Saints managed to score on consecutive possessions two times all night.
MSU held a 22-3 edge in points off turnovers including a 23-2 advantage in fast break points.

Logan Epes splashed in his first collegiate points on a 3-pointer from the right corner with 9:50 to play in the opening half. The freshman from Garland finished the game with a team-high five triples on seven attempts to close with a game-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Mason Gibson matched a season-high with 15 points. The redshirt-freshman from Allen hit three 3-pointers and had a campaign-best three steals in 21 minutes.

Luke Hamilton was a perfect 5-for-5 from inside the arc and hit a 3-pointer in his eighth consecutive game to finish with 13 points and six rebounds.

Derrick Ogechi buried three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points in 15 minutes of floor time.

Duncan Alevok set season highs with 10 points, six rebounds, and four blocked shots.

- Midwestern State hit a season-high 14 3-pointers on 33 attempts (42.4 percent).
- The Mustangs hit 10-or-more triples in consecutive games for the first time since connected on 14 against West Texas A&M on Jan. 27, 2022 and 10 versus Cameron on Jan. 29, 2022. MSU also hit 10 against the Aggies Saturday in Lawton.
- Midwestern State held Randall to 31 total points which is the lowest output by an MSU opponents since the then-Indians beat Austin College 28-18 on Feb. 6, 1968 in Sherman.
- Randall's 31 points match the eighth fewest points in program history and are fewest by an MSU opponent since the shot clock era began entering the 1985-86 season.
- The 58-point margin of victory was the sixth biggest in program history and most lopsided win since Midwestern State best Northern New Mexico 107-48 on Nov. 23, 2010 in Plainview.
- MSU limited Randall to 11 points in the first half which were the fewest since the Mustangs held Southeastern Oklahoma State to 10 points on Dec. 12, 2009 in Durant.Â
