DENTON, Texas -- Ashley Ingram recorded her seventh career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Texas Woman's to a 71-51 win over Midwestern State in the Lone Star Conference opener Wednesday night at Kitty Magee Arena.

Texas Woman's outscored Midwestern State 16-9 in the second period to take control of the game.
The Pioneers opened the quarter on a 7-2 run to push the lead to 27-19 when Scout Huffman hit the second of two free throws with 5:07 remaining in the half.
Midwestern State went ice cold in the period going 25 percent (3-for-12) from the field as TWU extended the lead to double figures.

Natalie Stice paced Midwestern State in scoring for the second time this season. The junior guard scored 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting.

Dyamon Griggs scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds in 23 minutes. The freshman from Waco is averaging 14.7 points over the last three games.
- Senior
Mandy Withey scored seven points and matched a career high with 13 rebounds. It was her second consecutive 13-rebound performance. She now ranks second in the LSC averaging 9.8 rebounds per game.
- Sophomore Yasmin Sifaoui scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting, but was limited to 12 minutes due to foul trouble. Sifaoui is now averaging a team-high 24.1 points per 40 minutes this season.
- TWU sophomore Ashley Ingram recorded her first double-double of the season and seventh of her career with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The returning second-team D2CCA all-region performer was 9-for-10 at the free throw line.Â
- TWU freshman Jada Celsur boasted a game-high +/- of plus-27 in her 33 minutes of court time. The Martin's Mill finished with five points, four rebounds, and two assists.

- Midwestern State combined for six blocked shots led by Yasmin Sifaoui with two. The Mustangs lead the Lone Star Conference with 28 total blocked shots and with 4.67 per game.
- Texas Woman's held the Mustangs to a season low 34.0 shooting percentage including a 1-for-10 effort from the arc.
- Midwestern State connected on seven of its first eight shots from the field and led 15-13 on an
Eternity Jackson layup with 4:12 remaining in the first period. The Mustangs managed to shoot 24.4 percent (11-for-45) for the remainder of the game.
