LAWTON, Okla. – Midwestern State's
Victoria Rosas raced to a personal best 5K time to lead the Mustangs to a second-place team showing in the Cameron Aggie Duals Friday morning at The Big Green Soccer Complex.
The senior from Fort Worth placed second to lead MSU clocking a 19:04.03 – a time that ranks 16th on the program's all-time performance chart.
She was just one of eight Mustangs to turn in personal best times with juniors
Elizabeth Butzke (19:08.90) and
Christyn Smith (19:10.41) to take fifth- and sixth-place, respectively.
Freshman
Presley Wall placed 17th in her first collegiate race with a time of 19:47.90, while sophomore
Brayleigh McGill took 18th with a time of 19:50.40.
Midwestern State totaled 48 points to finish second behind Oklahoma Christian, which tallied 34 points. Southwestern Oklahoma State placed third with 62 points followed by Cameron (138), Northwestern Oklahoma State (138), Oklahoma Science & Arts (149) and Southern Nazarene (160).
Senior
Delaney Locke paced MSU's non-scoring finishers placing 24th with a time of 20:40.40 followed by
Reese Lee (20:59.79/25th),
Addilyn Keys (21:24.32/31st) and
Nathalia Escontrias (21:26.19/32nd).
Midwestern State returns to action at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Sept. 18 at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin.
