OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Midwestern State traveled to the Oklahoma City Tennis Center for the first round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Friday, Feb. 26. The team started the tournament against No. 1 Columbus State and fell 4-0 to the Cougars.

For doubles, Alex Martinez-Roca and Alexandre Crepy went up against Alvaro Regalado and Javier Cueto Ramos. They fell 6-2 to the Columbus State pair.

Brice Bradshaw and Alberto Diaz fell 6-2 to Tomasso Schold and Pietro Martinetti.

The last doubles match between Angel Palacios and Quentin Scharfenberg and Christian Garay and Felix Steen went unfinished with Garay/Steen up 5-4.

For singles, Schold upped No. 5 Palacios 6-4, 6-4 at number three. Number four singles went to the Cougars with Cueto Ramos topping Diaz 6-4, 6-2.

University of Indianapolis clenched the win after a defeat of Bradshaw to Justin Welz 2-6, 4-6.

No. 43 Martinez Roca took a set from No. 2 Regalado in the 7-5, 3-6, unfinished match at number one singles. Number two sinlges also went unfinished between Ben Westwick and Garay (6-3, 2-6, 0-1). Singles five remained unfinished 1-6, 6-2, 2-2 for Scharfenberg and Steen.
