OKLAHOMA CITY -- Midwestern State and Oklahoma Christian tangle in a non-conference game Thursday night at Payne Athletic Center. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

THREE...DOT...THOUGHTS...

Midwestern State snapped a three-game slide with a 71-66 win over Cameron Tuesday night in Lawton... The Mustangs look to win consecutive road games for the first since beating Oklahoma Christian (2/6) and UT Permian Basin (2/27) in their final two road games of the 2020-21 season...  MSU plays the second of five consecutive non-conference games against LSC opponents Thursday night at Oklahoma Christian... Two of Midwestern State's three wins this season have come against Oklahoma institutions of higher learning including an 86-65 win over Central Oklahoma (11/20) and Tuesday's 71-66 win over Cameron. The Mustangs also beat Science & Arts (Okla.) in an exhibition game... Midwestern State ranks second in the Lone Star Conference and 13th in NCAA Division II pulling down 15.13 offensive rebounds per game... The Mustangs average 12.7 second-chance points per game which accounts for 17.2 percent of their offensive production... MSU has grabbed at least 15 offensive rebounds in five of seven games this season... Midwestern State struggled from the arc over the last four games connecting on 23 of their last 105 3-point attempts (21.9 percent). The Mustangs connected on 36.2 percent of their 3-point shots last season....

Jermane Carter // Senior // Forward // Lenape, N.J.

ranks seventh in the LSC in scoring at 16.7 points per game... leads the LSC and ranks 20th in NCAA Division II pulling down 3.86 offensive rebounds per game... rates fifth in the LSC in field goal percentage (54.8)... scored in double figures in each of his last five games and in six of seven games this season...  erupted for career-high 28 points while completing his second collegiate double-double with 10 rebounds against No. 3 West Texas A&M (11/22)... went for 22 points and six rebounds in 23 minutes against Northern State (11/16)... narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds in a win over Colorado State-Pueblo (11/13)... 10 of his 11 rebounds against Colorado State-Pueblo came on the offensive end of the floor... had another near double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds at  Cameron (11/30)... posted positive plus/minus number in five of seven games this season...

averages 11.7 points, 2.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per game... scored in double figures four times this season...  went for a season-high 21 points with five assists and two steals in a win over Colorado State-Pueblo (11/13)... led team in scoring three times including his 21 points against Colorado State-Pueblo, 16 versus Minnesota-Crookston (11/27) and 14 points against Central Oklahoma (11/20)...

averages 10.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 27.2 minutes per game... scored in double figures three times this season... booked a season-high 17 points with seven rebounds against Northern State (11/26)... narrowly missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds in a win over Colorado State-Pueblo (11/13)... has worked his way to the free throw line for 16 attempts over the past three games -- making 14 of them... ranks fifth in the LSC and 50th in NCAA Division II with an 89.5 season free throw percentage (17-of-19)... sat out  Cameron game with an injury...

Jordan Teal // Freshman // Guard // Austin, Texas

comes off of the bench to average 7.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game... boasts a pair of double-digit performances... had season-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting with three 3-pointers, three rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes at Cameron (11/30)... hit 4-of-7 shots with two 3-pointers to score 14 points at No. 3 West Texas A&M (11/22)...

HEAD COACH JUSTIN LESLIE is in his third season at the helm of the Midwestern State men's basketball program. The Mustangs battled to an 8-21 mark in 2019-20 but closed the regular season by winning four out of five games to qualify for the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament. MSU also closed the 2020-21 regular season with four straight wins advancing the LSC Postseason Tournament for the second straight year with an 11-8 overall record. Prior to MSU, Leslie posted a 266-121 overall record (.687) at Azusa Pacific leading the Cougars to nine 20-win campaigns, two Pacific West Conference titles, seven postseason tournament appearance and an NCAA Division II Elite Eight showing in 2015. Overall, Leslie owns a 288-154 mark (.652) in 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach including a 22-33 record (.400) at MSU.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

Oklahoma Christian is winless against four NCAA Division II opponents this season, but those opponents have combined for a 17-5 record including MSU Denver (6-0), Black Hills State (2-3), Northeastern State (5-1) and Southern Nazarene (4-1)... The Eagles' lone win of the season came against Champion Christian (Ark.) (70-64)...  OC ranks sixth in NCAA Division II and second in the LSC holding the opposition to 23.8 percent from the 3-point line... The Eagles have allowed and scored 361 points through five games this season (72.2 ppg)... Sophomore guard Drew Tennial leads OC in scoring at 13 points per game... Tennial averages just under six free throw attempts per game and has connected on 20-of-29 charity tosses this season (69 percent)... Sophomore guard Karlyn Kenner scores 11.8 points per game shooting 39.1 percent from 3-point range (9-of-23)... 

HEAD COACH KENDRE TALLEY possesses a 17-33 overall record (.340) in his third season at the helm at his alma mater. Talley competed for legendary Oklahoma Christian coach Dan Hays from 2010-14 earning National Christian College Athletic Association All-America and All-Heartland Conference first-team honors as a senior. He is the only player in Heartland history to lead the NCAA Division II league in three major stat categories -- scoring (17.5 points per game), assists (5.9 per game) and steals (2.0 per game).

ABOUT THE SERIES

Midwestern State and Oklahoma Christian meet for the 40th time on the hardwood Thursday night at Payne Athletic Center. The Mustangs lead the overall series which dates back to the 1961-62 season by a 26-13 margin. MSU won seven of the last nine meetings dating back to the 1992-93 season, but the program have split the four meeting played over the last two campaigns. Midwestern State is 9-9 all-time against OC on the Eagles' home floor.
