Midwestern State football, volleyball teams quarantined, Maroon & Gold Game called off

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The Midwestern State football and volleyball teams are in quarantine due to positive results for COVID-19.

A member of the football team tested positive following a practice Saturday morning at Memorial Stadium.

In accordance with Wichita County Public Health District protocol, individuals who participated in the practice are required to quarantine for 14 days.

Due to the quarantine, the Maroon & Gold Fall Game originally slated for Oct. 31 at Memorial Stadium will not be played.

A member of the MSU volleyball squad tested positive last week. Out of an abundance of caution, the team has been in quarantine since receiving the result.

Midwestern State Athletic programs continue to follow protocols wth guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the NCAA to ensure the health and well-being of student-athletes and for the campus community.
