Tourney History
The Mustangs have claimed four tournament crowns in the last five seasons and vie for their third-straight. In eight seasons under Scott Linn, MSU has advanced to the finals seven times and won four titles.

Prior to Linn's arrival in 2011, the Maroon and Gold made three trips to the title match (2002, 2005, 2006), but had never broken through.

The Mustangs brought home the title in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. A win this week would mark the first three-peat in program history.

Regional Outlook
Midwestern State remained at No. 3 in the South Central Region rankings released on Wednesday by the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Committee.

The top four teams from the South Central Region will advance to the NCAA Tournament with the top two teams serving as hosts for opening round action May 13-14 at their campus site. The Lone Star and Heartland Conference Tournament champions will receive automatic bids into the NCAA postseason. Two teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Championship site to vie for a national title, May 22-25, at the Sanlando Park Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.

MSU Texas Collects 500th Program Win
Midwestern State collected win No. 500 in program history on April 16 against Oklahoma Baptist. The Mustangs (503-334-3) became the seventh MSU program to eclipse the 500-win plateau.

Doubles Decider
The doubles point has proved to be decisive for the Mustangs this season. MSU Texas is 13-1 when grabbing the early edge and 4-5 when falling into a hole.

After dropping the point in seven-straight, the Maroon and Gold have taken the point in nine of the last 11 contests.

Moving On Up
MSU remained in the top 15 this week, falling two spots to No. 14 in the Oracle/ITA National Team rankings released on Wednesday.

The Mustangs remained the highest ranked team in the LSC with the league getting five teams in the top 50. No. 15 Angelo State, No. 27 Texas A&M-Kingsville, No. 34 Tarleton State and No. 40 Cameron followed MSU in the polls.

Senior Greta Lazzarotto and freshman Casie Curry remained in the singles rankings while juniors Ashley Ramirez and Bianca Duff jumped into the top 10 in doubles.

Best to Ever Do It
Senior Greta Lazzarotto supplanted herself atop the MSU Texas career wins chart on April 14 against Texas A&M-Kingsville, passing Lacey Wuthrich (2002-05) with win No. 139. Lazzarotto bested Phoephathep Philavong, 6-1, 6-3, in singles to break the record.

The Italian passed Brooke Gray (2000-03) for the most career doubles wins on March 30 against Arkansas-Fort Smith. Partnered with freshman Casie Curry, the tandem closed out a tiebreaker against the Lions to lock up the historic win.

Lazzarotto ranks fourth all-time with 57 career singles wins and is eight away from breaking Wuthrich's program-record of 64.

Duff Wins No. 100
Junior Bianca Duff collected her 100th career victory in a three-set thriller with Lisa Carvajal at the No. 1 line on April 14. Duff became the 12th member of the 100-win club, joining teammate Greta Lazzarotto.

The Geelong, Australia, native sits at No. 11 with 106 combined wins while ranking in the top-15 in both singles (14th) and doubles (10th).

Ramirez Chasing History
Junior Ashley Ramirez can join Lazzarotto and Duff in the 100-Win department. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native needs six combined wins for No. 100 with a career record of 94-39.
