Storylines
First Serve
Midwestern State meets Cameron in the 2019 edition of the Red River Rivalry on Thursday at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex in Lawton. First serve is slated for 3 p.m. in the regular season finale.

Last Time Out
The Mustangs posted their eighth-straight win on Saturday, defeating 33rd-ranked Tarleton State, 4-3. Senior Greta Lazzarotto clinched the decisive point to put the Maroon and Gold ahead 4-1 in her final home match.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
MSU is coming off one of the biggest weeks in program history after stunning No. 5 Washburn and No. 8 Central Oklahoma last weekend.

The Bronchos entered the weekend with only one DII loss on their record – a 4-3 road setback to Washburn – before the Mustangs scored the upset by taking the doubles point and three singles affairs.

A day after its biggest win of the season, MSU Texas did itself one better. The Mustangs stung the No. 5-ranked Ichabods with their first NCAA DII loss of the season as junior Juliette Mary won the last-match standing at the No. 4 flight to walk-off with the 4-3 win.

Midwestern improve to 8-5 this year against nationally ranked opponents, boasting wins against No. 5 Washburn, No. 8 UCO, No. 14 Northeastern State, No. 17 Southwest Baptist, No. 21 St. Mary's, No. 33 Tarleton State, No. 34 Texas A&M-Kingsville and No. 40 Dallas Baptist.

Postseason Possibilities
The Mustangs can win a share of the LSC regular season title with a win over Cameron and loss by Angelo State against Tarleton State on Saturday.

MSU can climb no higher than the No. 2 seed in the league tourney due to a head-to-head loss to the Rambelles. The Mustangs clinch the No. 2 seed and face UTPB in the first round with a win over the Aggies.

Regional Outlook
Midwestern State remained at No. 3 in the South Central Region rankings released on Wednesday by the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Committee.

Ranked No. 12 in today's Oracle/ITA National Team rankings, MSU sits behind No. 18 Angelo State and No. 19 St. Edward's in the regional poll.

The top four teams from the South Central Region will advance to the NCAA Tournament with the top two teams serving as hosts for opening round action May 13-14 at their campus site. The Lone Star and Heartland Conference Tournament champions will receive automatic bids into the NCAA postseason. Two teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Championship site to vie for a national title, May 22-25, at the Sanlando Park Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.

MSU Texas Collects 500th Program Win
Midwestern State collected win No. 500 in program history on Tuesday against Oklahoma Baptist. The Mustangs (503-333-3) became the seventh MSU program to eclipse the 500-win plateau.

Doubles Decider
The doubles point has proved to be decisive for the Mustangs this season. MSU is 13-0 when grabbing the early edge and 4-5 when falling into a hole.

After dropping the point in seven-straight, the Maroon and Gold have taken the point in eight of the last 10 contests.

Moving On Up
A week after upsetting a pair of top-10 teams, Midwestern State moved up 11 spots to No. 12 in the Oracle/ITA National Team rankings released on Wednesday.

The Mustangs made the biggest leap of any top 25 team for the second-straight week after beating No. 8 Central Oklahoma, No. 5 Washburn and No. 33 Tarleton.

Senior Greta Lazzarotto, freshman Casie Curry and junior Bianca Duff all appeared in the singles rankings while the tandem of junior Ashley Ramirez and Duff moved up 27 spots to No. 23 in doubles.

Best to Ever Do It
Senior Greta Lazzarotto supplanted herself atop the MSU Texas career wins chart on Sunday against Texas A&M-Kingsville, passing Lacey Wuthrich (2002-05) with win No. 139. Lazzarotto bested Phoephathep Philavong, 6-1, 6-3, in singles to break the record.

The Italian passed Brooke Gray (2000-03) for the most career doubles wins on March 30 against Arkansas-Fort Smith. Partnered with freshman Casie Curry, the tandem closed out a tiebreaker against the Lions to lock up the historic win.

Lazzarotto ranks fourth all-time with 57 career singles wins and is eight away from breaking Wuthrich's program-record of 64.

Duff Wins No. 100
Junior Bianca Duff collected her 100th career victory in a three-set thriller with Lisa Carvajal at the No. 1 line on Sunday. Duff became the 12th member of the 100-win club, joining teammate Greta Lazzarotto.

Ramirez Chasing History
Junior Ashley Ramirez can join Lazzarotto and Duff in the 100-Win department. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native needs seven combined wins for No. 100 with a career record of 93-38.
