Mark Ryal Era Continues
Mark Ryal continues his third season as the head coach of the Maroon and Gold. The former Major Leaguer has led the Mustangs to a 50-63 (.442) record and a pair of ninth place finishes in the LSC. Ryal picked up his 50th in the Maroon and Gold in Thursday's win over Texas Woman's.
Last Time Out
The Mustangs were unable to get the offense rolling in a 6-2 loss in the series finale to Texas Woman's. Senior
Carli Woolsey belted her fifth home run in the last six games and her 10th of the season in the setback.
Road Woes
The Maroon and Gold aim to snap a nine-game losing streak on the road on Friday. MSU previously lost 10-straight on the road from March 10-April 21, 2017, for the longest road losing streak in program history.
The Mustangs average 2.1 runs per game on the road, hitting just .206 with only two home runs and 15 extra base hits.

Misty Muniz became the first MSU Texas pitcher to record 100 strikeouts in a season since Laci Belovsky fanned 148 in 2013. The Seabrook, Texas, native has punched out at least seven batters in 10 of her last 13 starts. Muniz's 114 strikeouts are the second most in the LSC this season trailing Texas A&M-Kingsville's Saidi Castillo's 132.

Carli Woolsey leads the team and ranks sixth in the LSC with 10 dingers on the season. The Enid, Okla., has gone deep in five of the last six games.
Woolsey is hitting .529 with five dingers, eight RBI, two doubles and seven runs scored.
