THE OPPONENT: Northwestern Oklahoma State dropped their last three games heading into Monday's doubleheader at Cameron… The Rangers suffered a five-game losing streak to start the season and had a nine-game slide from Feb. 25-March 9… NWOSU owns wins at Oklahoma Baptist in a series split on Feb. 24-25 and claimed a victory at Henderson State on March 15… Freshman Madison Friest ranked fourth in the Great American Conference and 69th in NCAA Division II heading into last weekend's series hitting .429 with seven doubles and a home run… Friest had a six-game hitting streak snapped against Henderson State by going 0-for-10 over the last three games against the Reddies last weekend… Friest hit .500 (10-for-20) during the six-game hitting streak (March 2-15) with a double, two homers and five RBIs… Friest hit .423 during a season opening eight-game hitting streak… Fellow frosh Kalie Johnson is the only other Ranger hitting over .300 carrying a .333 average… The Rangers hit .234 as a team and have a team ERA of 9.36… Jill Webb-DeVries, a four-year Division I letter winner at Georgetown from 2007-11, owns a 38-88 record (.302) in her third season at the helm at Northwestern Oklahoma State…
 
LAST TIME OUT: Angelo State swept Midwestern State in a three-game series at Mayer Field in San Angelo State by scores of 5-3, 14-8 and 13-2 (5). Senior Carli Woolsey led MSU Texas' attack by .556 (5-for-9) with two doubles and a homer in the series. Freshman Ashley Turner drove in a season-high five runs on a pair of doubles in the second game of the series, while sophomore Caycee Griffin delivered a two-run double to spur a three-run fifth inning in Friday night's opening game. Junior Lauren Lindgren and Woolsey stroked homers to provide the scores in the finale.
 
RYAL IN THIRD SEASON: Midwestern State coach Mark Ryal owns a 46-62 record (.426) in his third season at the helm. Ryal spent six total seasons at the Division I level serving as an assistant coach in stints at Auburn (2009-13), South Alabama (2014) and Oklahoma State (2015) before arriving at Midwestern State as an assistant coach in 2016. He also has five years as a high school head coach first at Inola (Okla.) High from 2003-06 and later at Prague (Okla.) High in 2013.
 
TRENDS: Midwestern State owns a 7-1 record at Mustangs Park this season… The Mustangs ride a five-game winning streaks into this week's home stand which includes games against Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday and a three-game LSC set against Texas Woman's on Friday and Saturday… The five-game home winning streak is the longest since MSU Texas claimed six-straight wins from March 18-April 13, 2017… The Mustangs last won seven consecutive home games from March 13-April 23, 2014 with the last streak of eight-of-more coming with 13 consecutive home victories at the start of the 2011 campaign… Senior Misty Muniz became the first pitcher in Midwestern State program history to record seven strikeouts in nine consecutive starts when she notched eight punch outs in the series opener Friday night... Muniz ranks third in the LSC with 91 total strikeouts and is fourth in the league holding the opposition to a .208 batting average against... Junior outfielder Kelsey Eropkin matched a team-best hitting streak extending her run to seven consecutive games with an infield single in the second game of the series at Angelo State... Eropkin had hits in 10 of 11 games before having the streak snapped in the season finale... Senior Carli Woolsey topped the Mustangs hitting .556 (5-of-9) in the series at Angelo State including a pair of doubles and her sixth home run of the season... Junior Lauren Lindgren stroked her first two doubles of the season in the first game Saturday at Angelo State before launching her fifth home run of the year in the finale... Freshman Ashley Turner drilled a pair of doubles and drove in a career-high five runs in Saturday's first game... Senior catcher Jenna Hering was hit by a pitch in her first collegiate plate appearance in Saturday's series finale...
