Storylines
Mark Ryal Era Continues
Mark Ryal continues his third season as the head coach of the Maroon and Gold. The former Major Leaguer has led the Mustangs to a 46-59 (.438) record and a pair of ninth place finishes in the LSC.

Road Woes
MSU Texas tries to snap a six-game road losing streak after being swept by Texas A&M-Commerce and West Texas A&M. This weekend marks the first LSC series that the Mustangs won't meet an opponent ranked in the NFCA Top 25.

Pitching Turns the Corner
The pitching combination of Misty Muniz and Abbie Lancaster held Western New Mexico to four combined hits in last weekend's series sweep. Muniz took a pair of no-hit bids into the seventh in both outings before surrendering hits. Lancaster scattered two hits in her first career shutout.

Here Fishy Fishy
The Mustangs start freshmen at three critical defensive positions. Ashley Turner has started all 21 games at third base while Bailey Wamsley has caught every game this season. Daylan Inkman has gotten 19 starts at second base.

Turner leads the group with a .328 average to go along with a homer and six RBI at the plate.
