Storylines
Mark Ryal Era Continues
Mark Ryal enters his third season as the head coach of the Maroon and Gold. The former Major Leaguer has led the Mustangs to a 43-56 (.434) record and a pair of ninth place finishes in the LSC.

Home Magic?
MSU Texas won its first home Lone Star Conference series after taking 2-of-3 from Cameron. It was the first home LSC series win since sweeping Western New Mexico from March 31-April 1, 2017.

Mystical Misty
Senior Misty Muniz tossed the first shutout for the Maroon and Gold since March 18, 2017, snapping a 67-game stretch without keeping the opposition scoreless. The Seabrook native came one strike shy of a no-hitter before an infield single in the top of the fifth ended the bid.

At the plate, Muniz went 2-for-3 with five RBI, including a grand slam. She's hitting .364 on the season with four homers and 13 RBI while matching the program's single-game RBI record of seven in the season opener against Southern Nazarene.

Here Fishy Fishy
The Mustangs start freshmen at three critical defensive positions. Ashley Turner has started all 15 games at third base while Bailey Wamsley has caught every game this season. Daylan Inkman has gotten 13 starts at second base.

Turner leads the group with a .293 average to go along with a homer and six RBI at the plate.

Lindgren Picks Up Hit No. 100
Junior outfielder Lauren Lindgren recorded her 100th career hit in the top of the sixth in the Feb. 9 win over Missouri Southern. The Denton product drove a one-out RBI single back up the middle to score Eropkin and stretch the Mustangs lead to 4-1.

In three seasons with the Maroon and Gold, Lindgren ranks 12th all-time with a .339 career average, eighth with a .549 slugging percentage and 14th with a .397 career OBP.
