Midwestern State clinches a berth in the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament with a win or a Western New Mexico loss on Saturday. The LSC Tournament is set for March 7-10 at the Comerica Center in Frisco.
 
WNMU takes on Texas A&M-Kingsville in Kingsville.
 
MSU Texas and Texas Woman's are tied at 7-10 in LSC play for the No. 6 seed. A win by the Mustangs gives MSU Texas a season-sweep of the Pioneers and clinches the tiebreaker scenario if the teams finish tied.
 
The Mustangs close out the regular season with home contests against Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville next weekend.
 
Johnson Coaches Game No. 300
Noel Johnson coached her 300^th career game at MSU Texas on Saturday, Feb. 16, against UTPB. In her 11^th season, Johnson became the winningest coach in program history on Dec. 19, 2017 in a 72-66 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
Overall, the Mustangs have posted a 149-152 (.495) record under Johnson's guidance with three-straight NCAA Division II South Central Regional berths from 2013-15 and a regional title game appearance during a historic run in 2012-13.
 
Mustangs Go For Season Sweep
The Mustangs try to sweep the season-series with the Pioneers for the first time since the 2012-13 season. The teams have split four of the last five series in the regular season with TWU completing a sweep in the 2015-16 campaign.
 
Thriller Rematch
Junior Mica Schneider scored 17 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter as Midwestern State poured in 37 in the final frame to erase a 15-point deficit in the final period. The Mustangs snapped a six-game road losing streak dating back to last season with a 76-72 thriller against Texas Woman's on Jan. 17 at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton.
 
MSU Texas shot 55.6 percent (10-of-18) in the fourth quarter while limiting the Pioneers to just 10.0 percent (1-for-10) over the final 10 minutes of action.
 
Dome Magic
The Mustangs return to the friendly confines of D.L. Ligon Coliseum. After a 3-3 start under the Dome, MSU Texas has won five-straight, picking up wins against UT Permian Basin (79-57), Western New Mexico (80-46), 14^th-ranked West Texas A&M (66-61), Eastern New Mexico (75-71) and Cameron (79-70).
 
The Maroon and Gold average 74.7 points per game at Ligon compared to 63.0 on the road. Defensively MSU Texas is allowing 56.5 points per game at home and 70.8 in road contests.
 
The five-game home winning streak by MSU Texas is the longest since the 2014-15 team won seven-straight from Nov. 18 to Jan. 7.

The Mustangs boast three of the top 11 single game team blocking performances (10 - vs. St. Mary's, 12/15/18; 9 - vs. UT Tyler, 12/19/18; 9 - vs. Texas A&M-Commerce, 1/3/19) while the 5.1 blocks per game would shatter the previous team record of 4.3 set in the 2014-15 season. Sophomore forward Hannah Reynolds continues to climb the MSU Texas all-time blocks list. The Prosper native sits in a three-way tie for second all-time with 90 career rejections. She needs 49 blocks to pass Monica Miller's (1991-95) program record of 138.
