WICHITA FALLS – No. 20 Midwestern State claimed the last-match-standing in a 5-4 win over Oklahoma Baptist on Friday at the MSU Tennis Center. The Mustangs improve to 6-2 following the win over the Bison.

Vasudev Vijayaraman rallied from a first-set deficit to clinch the match for the Mustangs.

Alex Martinez Roca and
Angel Palacios rolled to an early win over Lucas Branco and Daniel Aguilera, 8-3, at the No. 3 line for the day's first win. After the Mustangs' pair of
Dillon Pineda and
Nolan McCaig suffered their first setback of the spring to Kevin Andrusch and Luis Romero, 8-4, at the No. 1 spot,
Denney Norrie and Vijayaraman stormed back with a thrilling 9-7 victory against Gianlucca Galdi and Matias Le Fort at No. 2.
The Maroon and Gold pushed the advantage to 4-1 in singles before a furious rally from the Bison tied the match. Pineda got revenge over Andrusch, rolling to a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 for the first singles win of the day. Palacios posted straight-set wins against Galdi, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 to put the Mustangs a point away from victory. Freshman

Joshua Sundaram and McCaig were handed three-straight setbacks as the Bison rallied to tie the match at 4-all with one match to go.
Vijayaraman closed out his match at the No. 1 line despite dropping the first set to Branco, 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.
