THE OPPONENT: Science & Arts (Okla.) fell to 2-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a 97-86 loss at Southwestern Assemblies of God on Dec. 15th… The Drovers are coming off of a 14-day break… USAO boasts an 8-3 overall record and are 3-3 away from Drover Fieldhouse in Chickasha… USAO took a 95-49 exhibition loss to West Texas A&M on Nov. 17th in their only other game against a member of NCAA Division II… USAO is one of the top rebounding teams in NAIA Division I ranking sixth in defensive rebounds per game (33.2), ninth in total rebounds per game (45.5) and ninth in rebound margin (+12.1)… Sophomore guard Cameron Hines leads the Drovers in scoring with 17 points per games… Hines shoots 50.9 percent from the arc connecting on 27-of-53 shots… Hines poured in 20 points in four games this season including a 31-point effort against University of the Southwest (N.M.) and 30 against Wayland Baptist (Texas)… Senior forward Geno Artison scores 12.4 points and pulls down 5.9 rebounds per game… Artison has scored in double figures seven times this season including in each of his last four… Senior forward Marquise Williams averages a double-double with 12.2 points and 10.4 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game… Williams ranks sixth in NAIA Division I in rebounds per game (10.4) and is ninth 81 defensive rebounds… Chris Francis is in his fourth season at the helm posting a 65-40 record (.619)… Francis led the Drovers to NAIA National Tournament appearances in each of the last two seasons…
 
LAST TIME OUT: Senior guard JaJuan Starks delivered his first double-double of the season going for 21 points and 12 rebounds, while junior guard Josh Wallace knocked down 5-of-6 shots including three 3-pointers for 18 points to lead Midwestern State to an 88-82 overtime win against Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 19th. The win snapped a six-game slide for the Mustangs, who improved to 4-7.
 
HAGGERTY CLAIMS 150TH WIN: Midwestern State boasts a 150-75 mark (.667) in Nelson Haggerty's eighth season as head coach. He has led the Mustangs to the NCAA postseason in five of his seven seasons including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2012 and four LSC championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. Haggerty claimed his second LSC Coach of the Year award in 2016 sharing honors with former Cameron coach Nate Gamet. He also claimed the honor in 2012.
