THE OPPONENT: Mid-America Christian's game against Midwestern State will counted as its second exhibition game of the season… MACU fell to UTSA 104-74 earlier this month in San Antonio… The Evangels had a two-game winning streak snapped in a 78-69 loss at Texas Wesleyan Saturday night in Fort Worth… MACU is 8-4 overall this season and 1-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference… The Evangels are 1-3 away from their floor at the Gaulke Activity Center in Oklahoma City… Senior guard Charles Beauregard leads the Evangels in scoring with 13.6 points per game boasting top performances against College of the Ozarks (24 pts), Randall (21 pts) and Nebraska Christian (20 pts)… Senior guard Anthony Black, who ranks seventh in the NAIA with 29 steals, scores 13.4 points per game with a high of 21 against Oklahoma Panhandle State… Senior forward Justin Bogle, who ranks 18th in NAIA with 20 blocked shots, also scores 13.4 points per game with a high of 23 versus Southwestern Assemblies of God… Senior guard Khalil Thompson gives the Evangels a fourth double-figure scorer at 10.1 points per game with a high of 26 points against Manhattan Christian… Josh Gamblin is in his fourth season as head coach of the Evangels posting a 73-43 record (.629)…
 
LAST TIME OUT: Midwestern State took a pair of tough losses on the road to begin Lone Star Conference play falling to Eastern New Mexico 85-73 on Nov. 29th before taking a 93-70 loss at No. 8 West Texas A&M on Dec. 1st. Junior guard JuJuan Starks poured in a season-high 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting with three 3-pointers to lead the Mustangs at Eastern New Mexico, while junior guard Josh Wallace dropped in a campaign-best 19 point at West Texas A&M. The Mustangs are coming off of a 16-day break.
 
HAGGERTY GOES FOR 150TH WIN: Midwestern State boasts a 149-74 mark (.668) in Nelson Haggerty's eighth season as head coach. He has led the Mustangs to the NCAA postseason in five of his seven seasons including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2012 and four LSC championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. Haggerty claimed his second LSC Coach of the Year award in 2016 sharing honors with former Cameron coach Nate Gamet. He also claimed the honor in 2012.
