KINGSVILLE, Texas -- Senior
Tanner Graeber's 18-yard field goal with 14 seconds remaining lifted 12th-ranked Midwestern State to a 32-30 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday night at Javelina Stadium.
The Mustangs, who improved to 2-0 on the season by winning their Lone Star Conference opener, welcome Oklahoma Panhandle State for Family Day next Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
MSU overcame a 15-3 halftime deficit by scoring on its first two possessions of the second half as sophomore
Vincent Johnson scampered 36 yards to cap a 5-play, 69-yard drive.
It was the first of three second-half touchdowns for Johnson, who finished the night with 101 yards on 15 carries.

Darian Childers-Brown fell on a Greg Pitre fumble on TAMUK's next play from scrimmage to set up 22-yard scoring run by
Quade Coward on a quarterback keeper to give the Mustangs their first lead of the game at 16-15.
Coward, who led all rusher with 116 yards on 11 carries, set up MSU's next scorg with another 47-yard run before Johnson capped off the 6-play, 70-yard drive with a 2-yard TD.
The Mustangs cashed on another Javelina miscue after freshman
DaMarcus Wilson stripped Anthony Autry on an out-route allowing freshman linebacker
J.P. Cognasi to fall on the ball at the TAMUK 20-yard line.
Five plays later, Johnson rushed in from 3 yards out to give MSU a 29-18 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Texas A&M-Kingsville scored two touchdowns in the final quarter regaining the lead at 30-29 when Nick Pelrean scored from 3 yards out with 1:59 to play.

Texas A&M-Kingsville (2-1) travels to face Texas A&M-Commerce next Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

* Midwestern State improved to 12-6 all time against Texas A&M-Kingsville by winning its sixth straight and 11 of the last 12 against Hoggies.
* The Mustangs are 39-3 in games played before Oct. 1 since the start of the 2006 season.
* MSU has faced deficits in each of its last seven games and in 11 games since the start of last season. The Mustangs are now 9-2 in that game.Â

Vincent Johnson delivered his second 100-yard rushing performance of his career finishing with 101 yards on 15 carries. He ran for 190 yards last season against West Texas A&M.
* Johnson has six rushing touchdowns in MSU's opening two games this season.

Quade Coward ran for a career-high 116 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown while completing 14-of-23 passes for 222 yards.

Xavier Land caught four passes for a career-high 121 yards.
* Midwestern accounted for 294 yards of total offense in the second half after managing 143 before halftime.
* The MSU defense limited Texas A&M-Kingsville to 171 yards in the second half after yielding 248 in the opening stanze. The Javelinas controlled possession of the ball for 41 minutes.

Josh Wydermyer paced the MSU defense for the second consecutive game finishing with a career-high 10 tackles.
