Senior (2016)
earned All-Lone Star Conference honorable mention starting each of MSU's 11 games at quarterback... finished high on numerous program career charts: fourth in passing touchdowns (30), fifth in passing yards (3,984), fifth in total offense yards (4,924), sixth in pass completions (288) and ninth in pass completion percentage (55.3)... showed uncanny knack in comeback efforts engineering go-ahead scores in the final minute in five games as a senior -- winning four of those... completed 173-of-301 passes for 2,381 yards with 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions as a senior... produced fourth best season in program history in terms of total offense (2,767 yards) and passing (2,381 yards)... led Lone Star Conference and ranked 36th in NCAA D2 in passing yards per completion (13.76)... was fourth in the LSC and 54th nationally in pass efficiency (137.7)... passed for at least 200 yards in seven games... completed 24-of-38 passes for a season-best 295 yards in season opening 31-19 win at Truman State (9/3)... ran for campaign-best 116 yards and a touchdown while completing 14-of-23 passes for 222 yards at Texas A&M-Kingsville (9/17)... completed each of his four passes for 68 yards and ran for 14 more yards during an eight-play, 74-yard drive which resulted in a game winning, 18-yard field goal with 12 seconds remaining to seal a 32-30 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville (9/17)... completed 17-of-25 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 37 yards on eight carries to earn LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors in an upset of No. 4 Texas A&M-Commerce (10/8)... connected on 9-of-11 passes for 135 yards including TD strikes to Breion Evans (8, 12) over the final five minutes with the last score coming with 28 seconds left in a 26-25 win at No. 4 Texas A&M-Commerce (10/8)... registered 20 completions in 34 attempts for 271 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-21 win over Angelo State (10/15)... kept last-minute heroics alive going a perfect 4-for-4 with pair of completions to Bryce Martinez (22, 37) and another to Dante Taylor (8) before putting a 10-yard TD strike on Jerryl Yarbrough with 16 seconds left to cap a lightning fast 4-play, 77-yard drive to seal a 28-21 victory over Angelo State (10/15)... passed for 141 yards and a touchdown while running for 60 yards and two more scores as MSU overcame a 21-0 deficit to take a 24-21 third quarter lead before falling to West Texas A&M (10/22)... directed 5-play, 74-yard winning drive starting at the 2-minute mark against Tarleton State starting it by hitting Jaylen Mayo for 15 yards and Statron Jones for 29 yards to set up Adrian Seales' 13-yard TD run with 52 seconds to go for a 21-16 victory (11/5)... went 19-of-35 for 230 yards and three touchdowns against Eastern New Mexico (11/12)... keyed another comeback as MSU came from 10 points back with less than 2 minutes to play by hitting Jerryl Yarbrough for scoring strikes of 28 yards with 1:12 to play and 34 yards with 52 seconds to play following an on-side recovery to give the Mustangs a short lived 28-24 lead (11/12)... completed 17-of-32 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns before exiting with an injury midway through the third quarter of MSU's first round NCAA Division II matchup at Ferris State (11/19)...

Junior (2015)
played in nine games making three starts at quarterback... completed 86-of-164 passes for 1,108 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions... posted a pass efficiency rating of 119.19... rushed for 317 yards on 52 carries for an average of 6.1 yards per carry... passed for 292 yards and four touchdowns while rushing five times for 66 more yards in a 35-10 win over No. 10 Humboldt State (Calif.) to earn LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors (10/17)... connected on 13-of-22 passes for 182 yards in first start of the season -- a 24-17 win over West Texas A&M (10/10)... completed 12-of-29 passes for 132 yards and rushed nine times for 43 yards scoring the game-winning touchdown with 21 seconds remaining in a 28-24 victory over Eastern New Mexico in the Lone Star Football Festival at AT&T Stadium (9/19)...

Sophomore (2014)
competed in six games making one start at quarterback... completed 22-of-42 passes for 403 yards and three touchdowns... made 24 carries for 85 yards scoring four touchdowns... connected on 7-of-17 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 20 yards on five carries and a another score in first collegiate start against No. 22-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce (10/25)... completed each of his four passes for a season-high 144 yards including a 65-yard TD strike to Levy Wilson in the season opener against Missouri S&T (9/23)... ran for 42 yards on 10 carries with two touchdowns against McMurry (10/18)... burst 52 yards for a touchdown against West Texas A&M on Oct. 11 while completing 6-of-9 passes for 49 yards...

Freshman (2013)
played in five games at quarterback as a true freshman for the Mustangs... was planning to redshirt the season, but was called upon to be the number two signal-caller because of an injury to senior Shavodrick Beaver... completed 7-of-14 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown... ran for 142 yards on 25 carries with two touchdowns... saw first collegiate action in second half of game against McMurry, completing 2-of-4 passes for 28 yards including his first touchdown pass, a 15-yard strike to Arsenio Phillips, on his second pass attempt and completion. Coward also rushed for 80 yards on seven carries, including a 38-yard first down jaunt... rushed for 36 yards on nine carries and his first rushing touchdown against Menlo (Calif.) on a 17-yard run... hit 3-of-6 passes for 35 yards and ran for 15 yards against Eastern New Mexico...

At Cleburne High School
named honorable mention 4A All-State as a quarterback on both the Associated Press Sports Editors and Collin Street Bakery Texas Sports Writers Association teams... District 8-4A Player of the Year for coach Jeff Merket as a senior... threw for 3,250 yards and 35 touchdowns with a 60.3 completion percentage and nine interceptions, while rushing for 598 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior in 2012... led Cleburne High to seven wins and a playoff appearance for the first time in a decade... earned Built Ford Tough Texas High School Player of the Week when leading CHS to a 61-59 win over Burleson Centennial on Oct. 19, 2012... honored as a second-team District 7-4A selection at quarterback as a junior in 2011... played for the East team in the 2013 Oil Bowl All-Star game... outstanding on the baseball diamond as well, earning first-team All-District 8-4A as a senior and second-team All-District 7-4A as a junior... also played basketball for CHS... named a Dale Hansen Scholar-Athlete of the Week by WFAA-TV in May 2013...
