ON THE COURT
Midwestern State goes for its fifth consecutive win Saturday afternoon in a Lone Star conference tilt at Texas A&M-Commerce. Tipoff from the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse is set for 4 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
- Texas A&M-Commerce has won seven of its last 10 games, but the Lions are coming off of a 75-69 setback Saturday night at Cameron.
- The Lions boast the second best field goal percentage defense in the Lone Star Conference limiting the opposition to a 38.4 field goal percentage.
- A&M-Commerce has held six of its last 10 oppoents to 65 points or less.
- Senior forward La'Tisha Hearne leads the Lion attack averaging 10.8 points per game while pulling down 8.0 rebounds a contest. She scored double figure points for the 10th time this season Saturday at Cameron going for 16 points and eight rebounds against the Aggies.
- Junior guard Gabby Scott scores 9.6 points per game while shooting 34.1 percent from the arc. She erupted for 10-or-more points in five consecutive games from Jan. 17-31 culminating with a season-high 22 points against Tarleton State -- a game she connected on six 3-pointers.
- Freshman guard Princess Davis nets 9.1 points per game while dishing out a team-high 4.1 assists a contest.
- Freshman forward Artaejah Gay is averaging 12 points per game over her last four outings incluidng a season-high 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting against West Texas A&M.
- Jason Burton is in his first season at the helm of the Texas A&M-Commerce women's basketball program.

ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State meets Texas A&M-Commerce fot he 59th time on the hardwood Saturday at the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse.
- The Mustangs own a commanding 40-18 edge in the series which dates back to the 1976-77 season.
- MSU has won eight of the last nine meetings between the programs dating back to the start of the 2009-10 season with the Lions' lone win coming by a 71-64 count in overtime on Jan. 4, 2014.
- The Mustangs are 14-12 all time against the Lions in Commerce.

LAST TIME OUT VS. TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE
- Senior guard Dianna Jones scored 16 points and dished out five assists to lead four players in double figures for Midwestern State in a 77-55 win over Texas A&M-Commerce on Jan. 3 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- Senior forward Andrea Carter scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while senior forward Shambreka Jones added 11 points and eight rebounds.
- Senior guard Lisa Hampton splashed in three 3-pointers to finish with 13 points.
- Gabby Scott paced Texas A&M-Commerce with 10 points.

MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State extended its current winning streak to five games with a 72-57 win over Tarleton State Wednesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- Twelve of MSU's 17 victories this season have been by double-digit margins.
- Senior guard Lisa Hampton (Kennedale, Texas / Nolan Catholic HS) buried three 3-pointers Wednesday against Tarleton State to become MSU's all-time leader in made 3-pointers with 133 passing Andrea Buben, made 132 from 2006-10.
- Hampton has connected on a career-high 50 triples this season and is shooting 43.5 percent from beyond the arc.
- Senior guard Dianna Jones (Hewitt, Texas / Midway HS) became the 20th women's basketball player in school history to amass 1,000 points finishing with a game-high 16 against Tarleton State. The Hewitt, Texas native has scored 1,004 career points and is leading the Mustangs in scoring this season at 13.9 points per game.
- Senior forward Andrea Carter (Angleton, Texas / Angleton HS) notched her ninth double-double of the season finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday against Tarleton State.
- Carter continues to lead the LSC in rebounding at 9.9 per game and has scored 10-or-more points in each of her last nine games.
- Senior guard Shatoia Gober (Waco, Texas / Midway HS) matched a season high with seven assists Wednesday against Tarleton State while salting away a solid all-around line with eight points and four rebounds.
- Junior guard Kathryn Odom (Allen, Texas / Lovejoy HS (Southern Arkansas)) logged a season-high 15 minutes against Tarleton State while also knocking down her first 3-pointer of the season to finish with three points.
- Sophomore forward Jennifer Sissel (Wichita Falls, Texas / Rider HS) connected on her first trey of the season on the way to scoring a season-high six points against Tarleton State -- all in the first half.
- Senior forward Shambreka Jones (Mesquite, Texas / Poteet HS (Charleston Southern)) narrowly missed her second double-double of the season against Tarleton State finishing with eight points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots.
- Jones continues to lead the LSC at 2.1 blocked shots per game.

THE JOHNSON ERA
- Noel Johnson is in her seventh season at the helm of the Midwestern State basketball program.
- Johnson boasts a 107-80 record (.572) while leading the Mustangs to the NCAA Division II postseason in each of the last two seasons including a trip to the South Central Region finals in 2013.
- Johnson reached milestone victory No. 100 with a 61-47 win over Texas Woman's University on Jan. 1, 2015 in Denton.
- Midwestern claimed its first NCAA postseason tournament wins taking down Tarleton State and Metro State (Colo.) in 2013 before falling to No. 4 Colorado Mesa in the regional final.
- Johnson led the Mustangs to its first Lone Star Conference championship in 12 seasons claiming the 2012-13 title.
- Johnson garnered Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2012 before earning Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Small College Coach of the Year accolades in 2013.
