SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- Southern Indiana claimed its third straight win by rolling past Ohio Valley 85-65 Friday night in the Bill Joergens Memorial Classic.
- The Screaming Eagles have won 51 consecutive non-conference games at the PAC since losing to Northwest Missouri in 2007-08.
- Southern Indiana averaged 95 points per game with a scoring margin of 6.8 points per game.
- Freshman Alex Stein leads SIU in scoring at 17.4 points per game. The 6-3 guard poured in 23 points on 7-of-8 shooting with four 3-pointers against Ohio Valley. He has scored in double figures in four of his five outings.
- Junior Jeril Taylor scores 16.6 points while pulling down a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game. The 6-4 guard erupted for a season-high 33 points going 8-of-15 from the field with four triples and was 13-of-16 from the charity stripe earlier this week against Kentucky State.
- Senior forward George Edwards adds 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds a game, while junior guard Bobo Drummond scores 11.8 points and dishes out 3.8 assists per game.

MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State rallied from an 11-point deficit with 11:12 to play to beat No. 4-ranked Bellarmine (Ky.) 77-71 Friday night in the Bill Joergens Memorial Classic.
- It was MSU's 10th victory over a team ranked the NABC Division II Top 25 with
Nelson Haggerty at the helm. Six of those victories have come against team rated in the Top 10.
- The Mustangs shot 50-percent or better from the arc for the second time this season knocking down 12 triples in 24 attempts against Bellarmine. MSU hit a season-high 14 3's on 24 attempts in a season opening 103-51 win over Oklahoma City.
- Senior guard
Brandon Golden hit on five of his six shots from the field including four 3-pointers for a season-high 16 points off of the bench against Bellarmine.
- Senior guard
Jordan Stevens drained a season-high four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points against Bellarmine. Stevens has scored 20-or-more points three times this season averaging a team-high 20.4 points per game.
- Senior forward
Khapri Alston narrowly missed his third double-double of the season finishing with 13 points and nine rebounds against Bellarmine on Friday. Alston has scored in double figures in all five game this season for MSU.
- Senior guard
Bretson McNeal knocked down three 3-pointers to finish with 15 points while dishing out a season-high six assists against Bellarmine. He was coming off of a pair of 5-point efforts against Adams State (Colo.) and Colorado State-Pueblo.
- Junior guard
Pat Smith connected on a go-ahead a 3-pointer as part of a 12-0 run to give the Mustangs a 65-63 lead over Bellarmine with 2:59 to play Friday night.
- Senior forward
Magnus Richards was a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor to finish with a season-high nine points while swatting two shots in 18 minutes Friday night against Bellarmine.

THE HAGGERTY ERA

Nelson Haggerty is in his fifth season at the helm for Midwestern State as one of the top young coaches in college basketball.
- Haggerty boasts a 101-31 mark (.765) leading the Mustangs to the NCAA Division II postseason in each of his campaigns at the helm and to Lone Star Conference championships in each of his first three seasons as head coach.
- Haggerty earned NABC South Central Region and Lone Star Conference coach of the year honors in his rookie season of 2011-12 piloting the Mustangs to their third consecutive Elite Eight showing.
- With Haggerty on the bench (including two seasons as top assistant), MSU has advanced to three Elite Eights (2010, 2011, 2012) and to the NCAA Division II postseason six consecutive years.
