ON THE COURT
Midwestern State continues its four-game home stand Sunday afternoon against Ouachita Baptist at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Ouachita Baptist claimed its third win over the season taking a 73-51 decision over Central Baptist (Ark.) Tuesday night on its home floor at Bill Vining Arena.
- The Tigers are 2-2 against NCAA Division II competition this season taking wins over Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (76-74) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (79-78) and losses to Lincoln (Mo.) (79-64) and Texas A&M-Commerce (66-56).
- Sophomore Katie Kapler paces the OBU attack averaging 13 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. The 6-foot post from Mountain Home, Ark. has scored double figures in four of five games this season and is coming off of a 6-for-6, 16-point effort against Central Baptist.
- Junior guard Breanna Harris tallies 11.4 points and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 42.1 percent from 3-point range (8-for-19).
- Junior guard Katherine West adds 8.8 points and 3.6 assists per game, while freshman guard Taylor Bowles pitches in 8.8 points and 2.4 rebounds a contest.
- Ouachita Baptist scores 69.6 points a game while shooting 40 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from the arc. The Tigers also allow 69.6 points per game.
- Garry Crowder is in his 20th season as head coach at Ouachita Baptist posting a 302-227 record (.571). He has guided the Tigers to a Sweet 16 appearance and to three 20-win campaigns (2000-01, 2008-09, 2010-11).
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State and Ouachita Baptist meet for the third time on the hardwood Sunday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- The Mustangs have won each of the previous two meetings -- both in Arkadelphia.
- MSU rolled to an 83-65 win over Tigers on Nov. 19, 1998 at Vining Arena then outlasted OBU 84-74 on Dec. 1, 2013 last season.

- The Mustangs improved to 37-8 under the dome (.822) since the start of the 2011-12 season.
- Senior forward Andrea Carter (Angleton, Texas / Angleton HS) logged her NCAA Division II leading fifth double-double of the season going for 13 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
- Carter leads the Lone Star Conference pulling down 12.7 rebounds per game.
- Senior guard Dianna Jones (Hewitt, Texas / Midway HS) logged a season-high 19 points while dishing out a campaign-best seven assists Tuesday against Oklahoma Panhandle State. She has scored in double figures in each of her last five games.
- Jones needs 16 assists to become the ninth player in program history to log 300 career assists.
- Senior guard Lisa Hampton (Kennedale, Texas / Nolan Catholic HS) matched a season and career high (6th time) with five 3-pointers to finish with 15 points Tuesday night against Oklahoma Panhandle State. She has knocked 13 shots from beyond the arc over her last three outings.
- Hampton became the 12th player in program history to hit 100 career triples and is tied for 11th with Savannah Carter (101 3s from 2008-12). She needs two to pass Brittni Morrison (102 3s from 2005-08).
- Senior forward Shambreka Jones (Mesquite, Texas / Poteet HS (Charleston Southern)) pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds Tuesday against Oklahoma Panhandle State to pull her season average to 7.2 boards per game.
- Jones has at least one blocked shot in all six games this season and leads the LSC with 2.2 blocks per game.
- Senior guard Janae McJunkins (Wagoner, Okla. / Wagoner HS (Murray State)) set season highs with seven points, six rebounds and six assists in Tuesday's win over Oklahoma Panhandle State.
- Senior guard Shatoia Gober (Waco, Texas / Midway HS) notched her fourth double-figure effort of the season by going 6-for-9 from the field to finish with 12 points to raise her season average to 11 points per game.
- Freshman guard Krishawn Crockett (Humble, Texas / Summer Creek HS) connected on her first collegiate 3-pointer on her way to a season-best seven points Tuesday against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
- Sophomore forward Destiny Means (Duncanville, Texas / Duncanville HS (UTSA)) tied a season with seven points while pulling down a campaign best eight rebounds Tuesday against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
 
THE JOHNSON ERA
- Noel Johnson is in her seventh season at the helm of the Midwestern State basketball program.
- Johnson boasts a 95-78 record (.549) while leading the Mustangs to the NCAA Division II postseason in each of the last two seasons including a trip to the South Central Region finals in 2013.
- Midwestern claimed its first NCAA wins taking down Tarleton State and Metro State (Colo.) in 2013 before falling to No. 4 Colorado Mesa in the regional final.
- Johnson led the Mustangs to its first Lone Star Conference championship in 12 seasons claiming the 2012-13 title.
- Johnson garnered Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2012 before earning Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Small College Coach of the Year accolades in 2013.
