ON THE COURT
Midwestern State goes for its fourth straight win Tuesday night when the Mustangs play host to Oklahoma Panhandle State at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
 
ABOUT THE AGGIES
- Oklahoma Panhandle State snapped a 14-game regular season skid with a 91-46 win over Barclay College on Nov. 18. The Aggies dropped their next game 69-61 at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
- The Aggies have lost their last 28 road games dating back to an 89-86 win over Texas A&M International on Feb. 9, 2012.
- Junior forward Tatyana Bell leads OPSU averaging 12.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She has posted a pair of double-doubles this season finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds at Missouri Southern and 14 points and 10 boards the last time out against Northwestern Oklahoma.
- Senior forward Jaclyn Baker scores 10.8 points and pulls down four rebounds a game. She poured in a team single game high of 23 points in a 91-46 win over Barclay.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State meets Oklahoma Panhandle State for the second time on the hardwood Tuesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- The Mustangs claimed the only other meeting by a 78-59 margin on Nov. 25, 2012 at Oscar Williams Fieldhouse in Goodwell.
 
MUSTANGS NOTABLES
- Midwestern State rolled to three wins taking a 60-47 victory over Texas Wesleyan on Tuesday before claiming decisions over Central Oklahoma (67-60) and St. Mary's (Texas) (62-48) at the TWU Pioneer Premiere to improve to 4-1 on the season.
- The Mustangs are off to their best start since beginning the 2012-13 season at 4-1.
- Senior forward Andrea Carter (Angleton, Texas / Angleton HS) garnered TWU Pioneer Premiere tournament MVP honors after averaging 13 points and 14.5 rebounds in wins over Central Oklahoma and St. Mary's (Texas).
- Carter has recorded double-doubles in four of five games this season and has 33 for her career.
- Carter matched a career high with 20 rebounds Tuesday against Texas Wesleyan matching the same total against McMurry back on Nov. 9, 2012.
- Carter leads the Lone Star Conference and is 19th in NCAA Division II averaging 13.2 boards per game.
- Senior guard Lisa Hampton (Kennedale, Texas / Nolan Catholic HS) matched a career high with 19 points Friday against Central Oklahoma.
- Hampton also equaled her career best with five made three pointers for the fifth time of her career.
- Hampton needs four triples to become the 12th player in program history to connect on 100 career 3-pointers.
- Hampton rank is seven 3-pointers away from passing Brittni Morrison (102 3s from 2005-08) and Savannah Carver (101 3s from 2008-12) to move into 11th on the program's all-time 3-pointers made list.
- Senior forward Taylor Dowd (Valley View, Texas / Valley View HS) notched a season-high 10 points to go along with five rebounds in 18 minutes of play in Saturday's win over St. Mary's (Texas).
- Senior guard Shatoia Gober (Waco, Texas / Midway HS) notched her second and third double-digit efforts of the season finishing with 14 points against Texas Wesleyan and 11 versus Central Oklahoma.
- Senior forward Shambreka Jones (Mesquite, Texas / Poteet HS (Charleston Southern)) netted a season-high seven points while pulling down six rebounds Saturday against St. Mary's.
- Jones blocked eight shots in three games last week to up her blocks per game average to an LSC leading 2.3 per game.
- Senior point guard Dianna Jones (Hewitt, Texas / Midway HS) averaged 12 points, four rebounds and four assists while making four steals to make a strong case for all-tournament honors at the TWU Pioneer Premiere.
- Jones knocked down her first two 3-pointers for the season to finishing with a season-high 16 points Tuesday night against Texas Wesleyan.
 
THE JOHNSON ERA
- Noel Johnson is in her seventh season at the helm of the Midwestern State basketball program.
- Johnson boasts a 94-78 record (.547) while leading the Mustangs to the NCAA Division II postseason in each of the last two seasons including a trip to the South Central Region finals in 2013.
- Midwestern claimed its first NCAA wins taking down Tarleton State and Metro State (Colo.) in 2013 before falling to No. 4 Colorado Mesa in the regional final.
- Johnson led the Mustangs to its first Lone Star Conference championship in 12 seasons claiming the 2012-13 title.
- Johnson garnered Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2012 before earning Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Small College Coach of the Year accolades in 2013.
