ON THE PITCH
Midwestern State looks to extend its unbeaten streak to 11 matches Tuesday afternoon against Rogers State (Okla.) in Claremore. Kickoff at Soldier Field is set for 2 p.m.
 
SCOUTING THE HILLCATS
- Rogers State had its modest two-game winning streak snapped with a 2-0 loss to 23rd-ranked St. Edward's (Texas) Monday in Austin.
- The Hillcats accounted for 15 of its 27 goals in a 15-0 rout of Hillsdale Freewill Baptist (Okla.) last Wednesday at Soldier Field.
- RSU claimed a 1-0 win over Texas A&M International for its lone Heartland Conference victory on Oct. 6 in Claremore.
- The Hillcats boast a 3-4 mark on its home field.
- Freshman defender Jordan Permaul, senior forward Austin Sexton and junior defender Caleb Pitts pace the Rogers State attack with four goals each.
- Sexton went for a hat trick in RSU's 15-0 win over Hillsdale Freewill Baptist.
- Junior defender Lars Lindtner ranks 21st in NCAA Division II with five assists.
- Primary goalkeeper Cody Gammill, a freshman from Frisco, is 5-5 this season with a 1.99 goals against average and a .647 save percentage.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State meets Rogers State for the second time on the pitch Wednesday afternoon in Claremore.
- The Mustangs claimed the only other meeting by a 2-0 count last season at the MSU Soccer Field.
 
MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State extended its unbeaten streak to 10 matches with a 3-2 double overtime win over rival West Texas A&M Saturday night at the MSU Soccer Field.
- Three of MSU's last four matches have stretched into double overtime including a pair of 1-1 draws against St. Edward's (Texas) and Dallas Baptist (Texas).
- The Mustangs play five of their last seven matches on the road.
- Senior midfielder Andrew Power (Waterford, Ireland / St. Paul's Secondary (Northern Iowa ACC)) converted a penalty kick for his 10th goal of the season Saturday against West Texas A&M.
- Power, who is 4-for-4 on penalty kicks this season, ranks ninth in NCAA Division II in total goals and is the first MSU player to score 10 goals in a season since Len Smith had 10 in 2012.
- Senior defender Chase Robertson (Midlothian, Texas / Midlothian HS (Charleston (W. Va.))) scored his second goal of the season off of a free kick from 25 yards out in the 48th minute Saturday against West Texas A&M. It was his first goal since knocking in a free kick in a 3-0 win over Texas A&M International on Sept. 26.
- Sophomore midfielder Paul Sunderland (Manchester, England / Wright Robinson Secondary) netted his first collegiate goal off of a free kick from 35 yards out on the left wing for the game winner in the 101st minute Saturday against West Texas A&M.
- Sunderland ranks eighth in NCAA Division II with six assists.
 
THE DOUG ELDER ERA
- Doug Elder is in his 15th season at the helm of Midwestern State.
- Elder remains NCAA Division II winningest active coach in terms of percentage at 214-48-28 (.786).
- Elder is a six-time NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year (2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011).
- Elder's teams have advanced to the NCAA Division II postseason nine times while making five national quarterfinal appearances twice advancing to the Final Four.
- Elder needs eight wins to overtake Howard Patterson (221-85-20 from 1973-89) as the program's all-time leader in coaching wins.
