COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Midwestern State's non-conference matchup with Colorado-Colorado Springs was called due to lightning in the 48th minute with the match tied at 1-1 Sunday afternoon at Mountain Lion Stadium.
No result or statistics count in the contest as it failed to reach the minimum official completion point of 70 minutes. The match will not be rescheduled.
The Mustangs (1-2) struck first with an unassisted tally by
Dan Johns from 25 yards out in the 23rd minute before UCCS countered with a Mathew Cox breakaway goal in the 26th minute on an assist from Luke Chapman.
Midwestern, which claimed a 4-1 win over Colorado State-Pueblo Friday night, returns home to face St. Edward's (Texas) Friday at 7 p.m. and squares off with Rogers State (Okla.) Sunday at 3.
