ABOUT THE MUSTANGS

Midwestern State begins a three-game home stand looking for a sweep in the Red River Rivalry as MSU plays host to Cameron Saturday.

The Mustangs have won six straight, the longest winning streak this season and tied for the seventh longest in MSU history, and are tied for first place in the Lone Star Conference.

The Mustangs are paced by the powerful duo of junior Kirsti Degelia and sophomore Andrea Carter.

Degelia, who was the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week after chalking up a career-high 27 points against Tarleton State week before last, leads the Mustangs offensively. The honorable mention All-Lone Star Conference performer a season ago is a junior from Denton, Texas/Krum who is second in the LSC in scoring with 16.9 points a game (59th in Division II), and averages 3.1 assists a contest (fifth in the LSC) while grabbing 5.1 rebounds a game (20th in the LSC).

Carter has won the LSC Defensive Player of the Week award three times to go with the LSC Offensive Player of the Week award she has also collected earlier this season.  She has posted nine double-doubles in 16 games this season.  The sophomore from Angleton is second on the team and ninth in the LSC with a 12.1 scoring average.  She leads the squad, is second in the LSC and 15th nationally with 10.8 rebounds and is second in the conference with 2.5 steals a contest (70th in Division II).

Sophomore Shatoia Gober of Waco, Texas/Midway contributes 9.9 points a contest to go with her 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals an outing.  She is also shooting 48.5 percent from the floor (64-of-132).

MSU is averaging 70.1 points with 41.4 rebounds a game.  The Mustangs allow opponents 60.8 points a contest.

ABOUT THE AGGIES

Cameron has lost four of their last five contests, and has not won a game away from home this season.

The Aggies of coach Tom Webb are 4-12 overall, 3-7 in the LSC.

Cameron is paced by junior guard Chelsea Stamp of Crowley, Texas who leads the squad with 11.5 points a game (12th in the LSC) to go with her 0.9 rebounds a game as she is connecting on 2.5 3-point field goals a game (second in the LSC).

Senior guard Alexis Williams of San Antonio, Texas/Reagan adds 10.1 points a game with 1.8 3-pointers an outing.  However, Williams has not played in the last five games.

Junior forward Hannah Pollart of Powell, Wyo., averages 8.3 points and leads the team with 6.2 rebounds (13th in the LSC).

The Aggies average 53.4 points a game (10th in the LSC), while allowing 65.8.
