The Wildcats (3-5-0, 1-3-0) have struggled in the absence of two-time All American and Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year
Andrea Carpenter. But the junior from Amarillo has returned and scored her 39th and 40th goals of her career against Incarnate Word and Eastern New Mexico. Yet ACU, is 1-3 during that stretch - all LSC contests - after opening the season by splitting their first four matches of the season. Senior midfielder
Julie Coppedge and senior forward
Krysta Grimm have tallied a pair of goals and senior defender
Lexi Sterling has added another as ACU has struggled offensively averaging 0.88 goals per game after notching 2.13 a season ago. Senior goalkeeper
Arielle Moncure has let in 12 goals through eight matches this season for a 1.50 goals against average while posting a pair of shutouts.
All-Time Series: Midwestern State leads series, 6-4.
Coach Trimble on the Wildcats: " ACU is a dangerous soccer team. Their record does not reflect where they are right now. Andrea Carpenter is now back from injury and that will make a big impact for them."

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State (1-6-1, 1-2-1) continues to search for ways to stay healthy and hopes the elixir also cures its needs to simply score more goals. Eight different players have missed time due to injury and illness forcing coach Jeff Trimble into starting a different lineup in each of the Mustangs’' eight matches this season. MSU has managed to net just five goals - from five different players - but has also just struggled to create opportunities. The Mustangs rate last in the LSC scoring 0.62 goals per game while posting 11 shots per game as a team - the lowest average in the 18-year history of the program. However, Midwestern showed signs of aggression last weekend against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico when it blasted a combined 44 shots. The Mustangs had taken the same number of shots over their previous six matches.
Coach Jeff Trimble said: " We're getting healthier and that's a positive. We have options with some of our players coming back. We'll have Stevie Harris and Kaila Maxey coming back. We've got to keep playing with energy and stay positive. As strange as it sounds, we have to play with confidence and not let doubts affect our play."
