The Rambelles (2-2) are coming off of a pair of losses to familiar foes last weekend in Durango, Colo. Angelo State suffered a 2-0 setback to Colorado Mesa on Friday before it was blanked 3-0 by Fort Lewis (Colo.) on Sunday. Midwestern opened the season with losses against the same sides at the MSU Soccer Field. The Rambelles started the season with victories over Texas-Permian Basin (2-0) on Aug. 30 in Odessa and New Mexico Highlands (2-1/2OT) on Sep. 1 at home. Freshman midfielder
Sierra Anderson, freshman forward
Lauren Bateman, junior midfielder
Maggie Schaeffer, and junior midfielder
Katie Squires have tallied single goals for ASU's balanced attack. Senior goalkeeper
Danielle Edwards allows a 1.42 goals against average with a .667 save percentage in four matches. The Mustangs snapped a four-game losing streak against the Rambelles with a 2-1 win in their last trip to San Angelo on Oct. 14, 2011.
All-Time Series: Midwestern State leads the series, 12-6-5
Coach Trimble on the Rambelles: "They are a well coached and good soccer team. Angelo has been a difficult matchup for us the last few years. It's going to be a difficult game. They beat us here and we beat them there and that's a really good indicator of how close these teams are. They have some really good speed and this is going to be a really good game."

The Cardinals (0-2) opened the season with a pair of losses to Regis (Colo.) (2-1) and Metro State (Colo.) (3-2) last weekend in Austin. UIW also plays host to LSC preseason favorite Abilene Christian Friday night before the Mustangs hit town on Sunday. Junior forward
Sydney Solomon, junior midfielder
Amber Guenther and senior defender
Jordyn Garcia have accounted for the Cardinals' tallies through two matches while the UIW freshman goalkeeper tandem of
Heather Kowalik and
Karly Brightwell have permitted five goals. Midwestern State has won the last three meetings between the programs including a season sweep in 2011.
All-Time Series: Incarnate Word leads the series, 11-5-1
Coach Trimble on the Cardinals: "Incarnate Word is a difficult place to play. They play on field turf there and it always seems to be 10 degrees hotter there because of the humidity. It's the furthest we travel on the road and they are really good soccer team. (UIW head coach Tina Patterson) was able to bring in some really good players and does a really good job there."
ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State coach Jeff Trimble isn't one to make excuses but there is no question the injury bug is alive and well in Wichita Falls. Eight potential starters are hobbled or have missed time for the Mustangs in the early going. Necessity has been the mother of invention as many players are becoming versatile learning new positions on the fly. The lessons have been learned as MSU experienced its first four-game slide in program history as Trimble has shuffled through a new lineup in every match this season. Freshman forward
Kaila Maxey and senior center back
Megan Barnhart have accounted for MSU's lone scores of the season.
Coach Jeff Trimble said: "When we have the players injured like we do, we have to move players around. Sometimes when you do you find a gem just out of necessity. We feel like Mickey Brown can be really solid outside midfielder for us. She did a really good job out there with her speed and work rate. The girls are getting a good chance to make and impression and make their mark. Sure we would like to have the same starting lineup every game but we'll be working on our fifth different now. But the girls are getting some really good experience. We have some players that we would love to have out there and that people can't see that we have a talented soccer team. That's really frustrating to me."
