Midwestern State can clinch its sixth Lone Star Conference title with a win over West Texas A&M Wednesday night at First United Bank Center.
But the Mustangs have won just one time in eight trips to the building which was opened in 2002.
Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. or 25 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game which begins at 6.

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State has won its last six games and 10 of its last 11 since suffering its first loss of the season at Eastern New Mexico.
The Mustangs are now in position to clinch a share of the Lone Star Conference championship with one victory this week and can claim the title outright with wins over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
Either way, one victory would secure the top seed in next week's Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament set for Feb. 29-March 3 at the Allen (Texas) Events Center.
The Mustangs are playing some of their best defense of the season of late. MSU has held its last four opponents under 40 percent shooting from the field and to 61-or-fewer points in regulation.
Midwestern ranks third in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.1 percent), eighth in field goal percentage defense (38.7 percent) and 20th in scoring defense (62.1 points per game).
Senior forward
Darrick Thomas has been superb in his last two outings including a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Tarleton State before going for a season-high 19 points with nine rebounds against Central Oklahoma. The Dallas native has also hit eight of his last nine charity tosses.
Reigning LSC Defensive Player of the Week
David Terrell had six points and eight rebounds to go along with a blocked shot and two steals Saturday against Central Oklahoma. The senior forward leads the league in field goal percentage (67.9 percent) and leads the Mustangs with 38 dunks.
Junior guard
JaMichael Rivers has scored in double figures in each of his last three outings including a 10-point, 3-assist effort against Central Oklahoma.
Senior guard
Michael Loyd delivered a solid all-around performance against UCO with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists, while senior guard
Keonte' Logan hit 16 of his last 30 3-point attempts (53.3 percent) over his last 10 games.
ABOUT THE BUFFS
West Texas A&M has snapped out of a mid-season funk to roll to six-straight wins after beating No. 5 Tarleton State Saturday at the First United Bank Center.
The Buffs suffered defeats in five of six games from Jan. 7-26 after winning 11 of 12 games to start the season. During the stretch, WT suffered road losses to Tarleton State, Midwestern State and Eastern New Mexico and took its only two home setbacks to Cameron and Incarnate Word.
WT boasts the No. 4 scoring defense in all of NCAA Division II limiting opponents to 57.6 points per game.
The Buffaloes score just 65.3 points a game led by junior Kennon Washington, who averages 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
Junior forward Donald Sims gives WT two double figure scorers averaging 14.2 points and 9.5 rebounds a game, while senior forward Courtney Carr pitches in 9.9 points and 5.3 rebounds.
Senior point man Lionel Foster (8.7 points, 7.8 assists) and freshman 3-point marksman Tez Dumars (8.1 points, 1.6 3s per game) round out the backcourt.
Senior guard David Henderson adds 5.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 29 minutes a game for the Buffs.
WTAMU coach Rick Cooper has posted a 367-178 record (.673) in now his 19th season in Canyon.
ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State meets West Texas A&M for the 58th time on the hardwood Wednesday night at First United Bank Center.
The Buffs own a 33-24 edge in the ninth longest running series in Midwestern history which dates back to the 1947-48 season.
West Texas A&M has claimed wins in eight of the nine games played against the Mustangs since the First United Bank Center opened its doors in 2002. MSU's lone win came in an LSC South Division title clincher by a 61-55 count on Feb. 24, 2007.
MSU is 6-23 all time in Canyon.
