The Mustangs are currently tied fourth in the league with ENMU and Incarnate Word - all with nine points - trailing West Texas A&M (15), Texas Woman's (13) and Angelo State (10).Â

The Zias (4-7, 3-4) are the midst of a four-match homestand but had a modest two-game winning streak snapped by Angelo State in a 1-0 result Sunday at the ENMU Soccer Field. Senior midfielder

Danielle Thurman's unassisted goal in the 9th minute stood for a 1-0 win for Eastern New Mexico on Sep. 23 at the MSU Soccer Field. The Mustangs held a decided edge in shots (18-9) and corner kicks (9-1).

West Texas A&M (6-4-1, 5-2-0) had its four-match winning streak snapped in a 4-1 loss to Incarnate Word Sunday afternoon on its home pitch. The Lady Buffs have rebounded from a 1-2-1 non-conference start to climb to the top of the Lone Star Conference standings at 5-2. WT is paced by senior forward

Midwestern State (2-6-3) has battled its way to a 2-2-3 Lone Star Conference mark using solid defensive play to maintain a strong chance at a return to postseason play. The Mustangs currently rank third in the LSC with a 1.33 goals against average and top the league along with Angelo State and Eastern New Mexico with three cleansheets. Senior goalkeeper
Mallory Whitworth has gone the distance in each match this season to lead all NCAA Division II goalkeepers in minutes played with 1,074:44. MSU has struggled to a league low seven goals this season and have to score more than once in any game. Sophomore forward

- Midwestern State battled its way to an unbeaten week with draws against Abilene Christian and Texas Woman's sandwiched around a 1-0 double overtime win over Texas A&M-Commerce.
- MSU has posted shutouts in each of its last three road games.
- The Mustangs have scored just seven goals through 11 matches which stands as the lowest scoring output in school history and two goals behind the 2006 squad which tallied nine goals in its first 11 games.
- The Mustangs have posted three ties this season which are the most since the 2004 squad notched a program-high five draws while going 12-4-5.
- MSU has factored in to all three draws in Lone Star Conference play this season.
- The Mustangs played in three consecutive double overtime matches for the first time in the 18-year history of the program last week.
- MSU has been pushed to double overtime four times this season which is the most since playing six two-overtime games in each of the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
- More OT: The Mustangs have gone to ovetime in five of 11 matches this season after going to OT seven times last season. Midwestern played in a school record nine overtime matches in 2004.
- MSU is 22-12-18 all-time in overtime matches and 9-6-18 in double overtime contests since the school ushered in women's soccer in 1995.
- Senior midfielder Maddie Fraser netted her first goal of the season on a side volley for the equalizing goal Tuesday night against Abilene Christian. It was her first goal since notching the game winner on Oct. 23, 2011 at Texas Woman's University.
- Fraser ranks eighth on the school's all-time assist list with 15.
- Sophomore forward Payton Fookes has delivered a team-high two goals this season both have come as game winners and both were tallied in the rain at Incarnate Word and at Texas A&M-Commerce.
- Senior goalkeeper Mallory Whitworth claimed her 39th career win between the posts and needs four more to move past Lindsey Kiser (43 wins from 1997-00) to top MSU's career victories list.
- Whitworth posted her 18th and 19th career clean sheets and needs one more to match Elli O'Dwyer (20 shutouts from 2002-05) at the top of the program's all-time shutouts list.
