Game Day: Midwestern takes on rival Texans Monday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum

Setting the Stage

Midwestern State will be fighting for more than keeping its 41 game home court winning streak alive when it takes on No. 25 Tarleton State Monday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The Mustangs can hold off the Texans from clinching an outright Lone Star Conference South Division title on their home floor as MSU clings to the possibility of tying TSU for the South title.

However, Tarleton State has already clinched the South's top seed even if it was to lose out and the Mustangs won out to force the tie for the division title. In that scenario, the Texans would top MSU by virtue of a sweep of Incarnate Word.

The Mustangs, who currently hold sole control of second place in the division, would slide into a three-way tie with West Texas A&M and Angelo State and possibly a four-way if Eastern New Mexico defeats Incarnate Word Monday night in San Antonio.

Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. or 25 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game which begins at 6.

About the Texans

Tarleton State has proven to be an exceptional home team in 2010-11.

The Texans are paced by senior guard Corin Henry who scores 13.0 points a game and dishes out 4.2 assists a game, but it was junior Carrington Tankson who hurt the Mustangs in the first go around.
