Mustangs blast Southeastern Oklahoma, 9-0

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State dominated for a 9-0 win over Southeastern Oklahoma Thursday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Center.

The Mustangs, who had a six-match winning streak snapped Monday against Cameron, has now won seven of their last eight and nine of the last 11 to stand at 15-7 on the season.

MSU closes the regular season at the University of Texas-Tyler Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs controlled doubles play with their closes match coming at No. 1 where Vjekoslav Stipanic and Bo Zaputovic doubled up Jose Argumedo and Travis Truax 8-4, while Luke Joyce and Chad Meeks teamed an 8-3 win at No. 2 and Daniel McMullan and Octavian Dinuta took an 8-0 victory at No. 3.

Stipanic continued his stellar late season showing in singles play by taking his 8th-straight match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Argumedo at No. 1 as the Mustangs would take each of the six singles matches in straight sets.

Zaputovic beat Oriol Cortes 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, while junior Daniel McMullan bested Truax 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, Joyce bounced Kevin Longo 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, Meeks took Dave Henkel 6-0, 6-4 at No. 5 and Dinuta blanked Jonathan Rodriguez 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
