WICHITA FALLS, Texas - No. 8 Southeastern Oklahoma State pounded out 12 hits as it defeated Midwestern State 10-0 in five innings Saturday afternoon in Game 2 at Mustangs Park.
Jami McAdoo (19-3) picked up the win for the Savage Storm. She pitched five complete innings and gave up four hits.
Senior
Lindsey Voigt led off the bottom of the first for the Mustangs with a double to left center.
Maranda Bishop moved Voigt to third with a single to center field. But after a ground out to the SOSU second baseman and two foul outs, the runners were left stranded on base.
SOSU's Jaclyn Mullaney hit the first homerun by a member of the visiting team in the 16th home game at Mustangs Park to lead off the second inning.
Southeastern Oklahoma struck for multiple runs in three of the five innings of play.
Senior
Ashley Kuchenski took the loss after completing three innings of work and giving up 10 hits and eight runs, six of which were earned. The loss dropped her to 5-8 on the season.
Brittany Tanner pitched the final two innings of the game. She gave up two runs on two hits and struck out one batter.
The Mustangs were led by Voigt, Bishop,
Ashley Kuchenski and
Lauren Craig who each had one hit apiece.
With the loss, MSU falls to 29-21 on the season and 10-10 in Lone Star Conference play. Southeastern improves to 41-7, and 14-2 in conference play.
Midwestern State returns to action when they travel to Tahlequah, Okla. to take on Northeastern State on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
