CLEARWATER, Fla. - Tatiana Casis' lead-off homer in the fourth inning provided the difference for Saint Leo as the Lions claimed a 2-1 win over Midwestern State Sunday morning in the Eckerd College Spring Invitational at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
Casis spoiled a solid performance by MSU senior
Ashley Kuchenski, who fell to 2-2 on the season.
The southpaw allowed two runs - one earned - on six hits while striking out five and walking none.
Saint Leo cashed in on a Mustangs' error in the third to take a 1-0 lead.
Heather Stroud lined a single to right field and eventually scored when MSU shortstop
Tabitha Yannetti mishandled Amanda Patrick's grounder up the middle.

That was all the Mustangs could muster off of Saint Leo ace Ashley Urbanik, who allowed and earned run on eight hits while stirking out seven and walking one.
The Mustangs fell to 9-7, while Saint Leo improved to 8-1.
