COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — No. 1-ranked Midwestern State remained unbeaten on Friday night as
Lawrence Doe, Jr. scored his second goal of the season in the 72nd minute at Mountain Lion Stadium, and MSU earned a 1-1 draw with No. 12-ranked UCCS in its first true road game of the season.

Cooper Tea was called for a foul in the penalty area, and Yohann Fila converted the penalty kick in the 36th minute to give UCCS (2-0-1) a 1-0 lead.
The Mountain Lions maintained their advantage until
Alan Rivera took a shot, and UCCS goalkeeper Hugo Sjoberg left a rebound that Doe pounced on and scored into the lower right side of the goal.
Doe, a junior forward that transferred to Midwestern State (2-0-1) from Paris Junior College, is one of eight Mustangs to score a goal in three games this season. Rivera, a senior forward from Round Rock, Texas, picked up his first assist of the year for the Mustangs.
Jake Morris finished with three saves for Midwestern State, which finished with six shots on goal. Rivera and
Parker Plaxco each had two shots on goal for MSU, while Tea and
Ethan Krchnak each put a shot on frame. Plaxco and Rivera combined for nine of the 16 shots for Midwestern State, which outshot the Mountain Lions in the second half 10-3. UCCS finished with nine shots over 90 minutes.
UCCS was called for 17 fouls and was shown five yellow cards in the match. The Mustangs committed 12 fouls. Rivera was booked in the 62nd minute for Midwestern State.
Midwestern State travels to the Mile High City to complete its road trip as it faces MSU Denver on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
