WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State quarterback Kaden Brown was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the Lone Star Conference after completing 23-of-49 passes for a school record 474 yards and three touchdowns in the Mustangs' 41-31 win at West Texas A&M on Saturday night.

Brown had a school record 506 yards of total offense, rushing for 32 yards and a touchdown as Midwestern State defeated West Texas A&M for the first time since 2018 and earned its first victory in Canyon, Texas, since 2012.

Brown's passing yardage and total offense numbers are the most in NCAA Division II this season and highest in the LSC since 2017. Brown leads the nation in total offense per game with 377.3 yards per outing.

The junior from Midlothian, Texas, shared the honor with wide receiver Christian Kretz of Texas A&M Kingsville, who set program records with 270 yards and 16 receptions in a 52-14 conference road win over Western New Mexico. Kretz's yardage is the most in NCAA Division II this season and ranks fourth all-time in the LSC.
