WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 12-ranked Midwestern State rolled to its third consecutive victory with a 6-1 triumph over visiting Hillsdale in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Mustangs improved to 7-4 this season.
Hattie Berend, a sophomore from Wichita Falls, clinched the dual-match victory over the Chargers with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Emma Palus at No. 6 singles. Berend won her second straight singles match and improved to 2-3 this season.

Alessia Dolce improved to 4-0 in doubles and secured the first point of the day with a 6-3 win over Dimitra Papastarvrou and Esther Sura at No. 3 doubles.
Camila Garcia and
Jasmine Crain maintained their spotless record in doubles with a 6-1 victory over Isabella Spinazze Julia Zlateva at No. 2 doubles. Garcia and Crain improved to 11-0, and opponents have only won more than three games on three occasions. The duo only lost nine games over the last four duals, played in a span of five days.
Garcia improved to 9-1 at No. 3 singles and won her third straight match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Papastarvrou.
No. 3-ranked
Selin Sepken improved her record at No. 1 singles to 7-1 and got a measure of revenge for a loss in doubles by routing Briana Rees, 6-2, 6-1. Sepken and
Emilia Gyorgy were defeated 6-3 at No. 1 doubles by Ane Dannhauser and Rees.
Gyorgy knocked off No. 33-ranked Dannhauser at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 0-6, 6-1, for her fourth straight singles victory. The freshman from Hungary improved to 7-4 this season.
Dolce played her first two tiebreak sets of the season and defeated Julia Zlateveva at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5). The sophomore from Italy improved to 5-4 with her second straight win in singles.
Esther Sura earned the only point for the Chargers winning a tightly contested match with Crain at No. 5 singles, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5. Crain had a three-match winning streak snapped and fell to 4-7 overall in singles, and the freshman from Edmond, Oklahoma, is 2-2 in the No. 5 position.
Hillsdale fell to 6-4 for the season and is visiting Tarleton State on Tuesday.
Hawaii Hilo visits MSU Tennis Center on Wednesday for a dual match with the Mustangs. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
