WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Ryan Griff recorded his highest career finish at the Rattler Invitational, earning Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week earns for the first time in his career.
Griff led the Mustangs to a team victory in the Rattler Invitational, taking down the 15 opponents with an even par tournament (864). Individually, Griff finished second behind Northeastern State's Nathan Biais, as the Bulverde, Texas native complied three rounds of even-par or better to finish 3-under par (70-71-72). The sophomore was the best on the course for par four holes, averaging 3.87. Griff tallied a pair of eagles and 10 birdies over the 54 holes.
Griff and the Mustangs have a brief hiatus before their next competition, playing in the Oak Tree Invitational in Edmond, Okla., hosted at Oak Tree County Club. The Mustangs will compete in the 54 hole tournament beginning on Mar. 16, and wrapping up on Mar. 17.
