WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Parker Plaxco, who scored four goals in a 4-2 win over Northwest Nazarene, was named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, and Jake Morris was selected as Goalkeeper of the Week after making a career-high six saves in a 2-0 win over Western Oregon.

Midwestern State won both matches at Toyota Soccer Complex in Frisco, Texas.

Plaxco made it a memorable trip with a four-goal outburst in the second half against Northwest Nazarene on Thursday evening. 

Plaxco netted his first goal in the 56th minute and just 37 seconds later tied the game. He completed his hat trick in just seven minutes and seven seconds to give MSU a lead it would not relinquish. Plaxco's final goal came in the 88th minute. He is the second player in NCAA Division II with four goals in a single match this season and the first to do it in the LSC since 2023.

Plaxco, a redshirt junior from Stephenville, Texas, became the first Mustang to score four goals in a match, and he followed that up with an assist on Liam Kervick's goal in the 53rd minute against Western Oregon.

Plaxco has six goals and two assists in seven matches and leads the conference with 14 points.

Morris, who started the first three matches of the season, returned to face Western Oregon in the Saturday afternoon tilt. Morris turned in his second clean sheet of the season against the Wolves, making four of his six saves in the second half.

Morris made two saves in a 1-0 win over Westminster for his first shutout, but he had not played since a 3-3 draw with Newman at Stang Park on Sept. 11. He is now 2-0-2 with a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .714.

Midwestern State returns to Stang Park on Wednesday night to face St. Edward's. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
