FRISCO, Texas — Midwestern State defeated Northwest Nazarene 4-2 on Thursday at Toyota Soccer Center. The Mustangs surged as
Parker Plaxco scored four second-half goals to secure the win. Midwestern State capitalized on 14 total shots, with seven on target, while Northwest Nazarene netted two goals from eight shots.
Plaxco became the first Mustang to score four goals in a game.

The first half began with the Mustangs applying early pressure, earning multiple corner kicks by the 7th minute and creating a notable shot on target by
Parker Plaxco in the 9th minute, which was saved by Northwest Nazarene goalkeeper, Elijah Brockl. Despite the aggressive play, the Mustangs fell behind when Derek Johnson of the Nighthawks scored in the 22nd minute, assisted by Rylan McPherson.
MSU continued to press forward, generating several more corner opportunities, but struggled to convert those chances into goals. The defense held firm for the remainder of the half, preventing further scoring by the opponent. The period closed with the Maroon & Gold trailing 1-0.
The second half opened with NNU taking increasing its lead through a penalty kick by Abdullahi Sharif in the 51st minute. However, MSU quickly turned the tide as Plaxco found the back of the net twice in quick succession, assisted byGuevara and Mays, leveling the score at 2-2 by the 55th minute.
The Mustangs maintained offensive pressure, and Plaxco completed his hat trick in the 62nd minute with an assist from Tea, pushing the Stangs ahead 3-2. The momentum continued in MSU's favor, as Plaxco secured his fourth goal in the 87th minute, assisted by Pritchard, extending the lead to 4-2.
In their next game, the Mustangs return to Frisco, Texas, to take on Western Oregon. The match is set for Saturday at Toyota Soccer Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
