WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- No. 9-ranked Midwestern State rolled to its third consecutive victory and improved to 6-2 this season with a 4-0 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith in a dual match at MSU Tennis on Sunday afternoon.
The start of the dual match was delayed by inclement weather, but the Mustangs wasted no time dispatching the Lions.
Bruno Sanchez and
Justin Van Amerongen scored a 6-3 victory over Eduardo Bribliesca and Rodrigo Hoppe at No. 2 doubles, and the pairing of
Juan David Duque and
Killian Guillou secured the first point of the dual with a 6-3 win over Killian Darneaux and Kevin Praphan at No. 3 doubles.
Sanchez, ranked No. 46 in singles, dismissed No. 50 Juan Rosello, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
Stephen Slocombe also won in straight set, defeating Anis Ramchange at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-1.
Philip Kamara clinched the dual match victory with a routine 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Hoppe at No. 4 singles.
The Mustangs are hosting Southwest Baptist in a dual match at MSU Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
