WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State Men's Basketball started Lone Star Conference play 2-0 thanks to the play of
Terrance Ramirez, who was named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Ramirez spearheaded the Mustangs offense, averaging 25.5 ppg, shooting 68% from the field and going 11-16 from three. The junior also added 5.0 apg and 2.0 spg to his stat line.
The Grapevine, Texas native led MSU to a comeback victory over (RV) Angelo State, 77-70, scoring 22 of his 25 points in the second half. Ramirez at one point hit four consecutive threes in the second half, helping the Mustangs overcome a 10-point deficit, finishing 7-9 from three, and 7-10 from the field. The next game, Ramirez raised his performance with a season high 26 points, eight assists, and three steals in a 96-86 win over UT Permian Basin. Ramirez finished with a season high nine made field goals, with his eight assists being a single-game high by an LSC player this season.
Midwestern State play a road contest this week against Oklahoma Christian, on Saturday, Dec. 13
th in Edmond, Okla. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. between the Mustangs and Eagles. Saturday's contest, and all Lone Star Conference games will be streamed on FloCollege.
