WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Midwestern State (2-3, 0-0 Lone Star) snapped a three-game losing streak with a decisive 97-74 victory over Dallas Christian (1-4) at D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Monday night. The Mustangs, playing their third game in five days, capitalized on turnovers, scoring 29 points off Dallas Christian's 22 turnovers. This victory also marked Midwestern State's continued dominance in the series, which they now lead 5-0.
The game opened with Midwestern State securing a 49-36 lead over Dallas Christian by the end of the first half. Charles McClennahan Jr. initiated the scoring for the home team with a tip-in just 24 seconds into the game. The Mustangs capitalized on turnovers, converting steals by
Jonathan Jackson and Orlando Horton Jr. into quick points, contributing to their early advantage. Dallas Christian's Dion Grisnold kept the visitors competitive with a late 3-pointer at the 35-second mark, but the home team maintained control through strong defensive plays and efficient scoring in the paint.
