WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State hosts Texas A&M-Kingsville for a "Blackout Game" at Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Tailgating at the stadium begins at 3 p.m., and shuttle buses will begin taking students from the campus to Memorial Stadium at 3:30 p.m. The Mustangs Walk is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
Midwestern State (0-4, 0-2) returns home after suffering a 37-15 loss at No. 11 ranked UT Permian Basin last week.
One of the bright spots for the Mustangs last week was the performance of freshman running back
Reginald Williams. The 5-7, 174-pound native of Montgomery, Texas, rushed for 70 yards on 11 carries, including a 32-yard run. Williams also caught two passes for 18 yards. In his collegiate debut.
Sean Jastrab took over the reins at quarterback in the second half of last week's game and led the Stang Gang on an 8-play, 47-yard scoring drive that was capped off by a 2-yard touchdown pass to tight end
Kelby Hickerson. It was the third career touchdown reception for the senior from Austin, Texas.
Jastrab completed 12-of-20 passes for 132 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The senior from Walnut, California, replaced
Jakolby Longino, who was 9-for-15 for 71 yards and was sacked three times by the No. 11-ranked Falcons.
Midwestern State is averaging 19.5 points with 381.8 yards per game this season, and the Mustangs have the 11th ranked passing attack in NCAA Division II with 303.5 yards per game.
Demonte Greene leads the conference in all-purpose yards with 158 yards per game. Greene leads the league with 7.8 receptions per game and is second in the league with 483 receiving yards. He is also averaging 20.2 yards on kickoff returns through the first four games.
Longino has completed 91-of-139 passes for 1,082 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions but is out for this week's game against the Javelinas.

Rich Renner said on this week's StangGang Podcast that Jastrab and
Josh Thomas would get the most consideration for the starting quarterback role against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Thomas is a junior that matriculated at Tyler Junior College, where he appeared in eight games over the last two years.
The Mustangs will also be without center
Paul Ledet, who was second team All-LSC last season. Ledet has started the last 15 games for the Mustangs.
Kenji Johnson has rushed for 172 yards on 32 carries this season and has scored two touchdowns, but he is out due to injury. Johnson was also the backup punter after
Joseph Carlson was injured following a run on a fake punt. Both Johnson and Carlson are unavailable for the game Saturday night.
Carter Revelle is a candidate to handle the punting duties this weekend.
Midwestern State is allowing 41 points per game and opponents are averaging 506 yards per game.
Noah Bustard is the fifth leading tackler in the Lone Star Conference with 30 stops, including 14 solo tackles. The transfer from Nebraska returned a fumble recovery 25 yards for a touchdown last week against the Falcons.

Kelton Williams have intercepted passes this season for the Mustangs, who have forced five turnovers. Jack Oliver recovered a fumble against Eastern New Mexico in the last home game for Midwestern State.
Texas A&M-Kingsville (2-2, 1-1) is coming off a 52-3 win over Sul Ross State last week. Senior quarterback Jack Turner, a transfer from Louisiana Tech, completed 30-of-38 passes for 393 yards, the fifth-most passing yards in a single game for a Javelina quarterback.
Christian Kretz caught five passes for 121 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Turner also threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Andre Branch, who also capped an 8-playm 66-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run.
Edward Chumley was the leading rusher for the Javelinas with 118 yards on 18 carries, and he scored on a 7-yard run in the third quarter.
Branch has been the leading rusher this season with 237 yards on 51 carries and has rushed for four touchdowns.
Turner has thrown for 1,196 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. He has completed 96-of-145 passes (66.2 %).
D'Cambren Verrett is the leading tackler for TAMUK with 17 tackles, including 10 solo tackles. The Javelinas have made 22 tackles for loss and sacked the quarterback six times this season.
Five different players have intercepted passes for TAMUK this season.
Midwestern State leads the all-time series with TAMUK, 18-8, but has lost the last two meeting, including a 27-21 loss at Memorial Stadium in 2023. Last year, the Javelinas defeated the Mustangs in Kingsville, 40-13, but Greene caught four passes for 93 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown reception.
Midwestern State is on the road for the next two weeks before returning to Memorial Stadium for the Homecoming Game against Central Washington on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
