started 10 of the 11 games in which he appeared … tied for team lead with 35 receptions and led the team with 550 yards receiving… led the team with five touchdown receptions… caught season-high nine pass for a season-high 119 yards in 17-12 loss at West Texas A&M (11/9) … caught two touchdown passes in 40-13 loss at Texas A&M-Kingsville (10/5) … caught a season-long 62-yard pass in 40-21 victory over Sul Ross State (10/12) … was named All-Lone Star Conference second team … selected as Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year …

At Newman Smith High School

played for head coach Robert Boone… caught 53 passes for 948 yards and scored eight touchdowns in his senior season with the Trojans… had three carries for 46 yards and a touchdown… earned 5-5A first-team all-district honors as a wide receiver… returned nine kick offs for 341 yards and had an 84-yard kickoff return… returned three punts for 128 yards and had an 82-yard punt return… made 21 tackles on defense, including 15 solo tackles… intercepted four passes and defended five passes for the Trojans … scored 13 total touchdowns in his senior season… caught three two-point conversions and accounted for 84 points… named the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week for Class 5A following a 43-42 victory over Denton on Aug. 26, when he caught 10 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns… also had three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown… "He is obviously our No. 1 wide receiver, and he did an outstanding job. Defensively, we needed him, and he jumped in and took over the game. He was a part of all special teams play. He makes a significant difference any time he is on the field,” said Boone.
