WICHITA FALLS, TX -- Midwestern State hit six of its first seven attempts from 3-point range in the opening seven minutes of the game on its way to an early 24-12 lead over Cameron, and the Mustangs dismantled the Aggies on Thursday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum, 98-66.
The Mustangs (13-4, 8-3) had six players score in double figures, led by Mason Gibson, who had 21 points and two steals. Jonathan Jackson hit 4-of-6 six shots from beyond the arc and finished with 16 points. Pierre Sanders filled the stat sheet with 14 points, eight assists and three steals.
Cameron (6-12, 3-9) was held to 30.3 percent shooting in the first half (10 of 33) and shot 37.7 percent for the game (26 of 69).
Bakari LaStrap, Matija Svetozarevic and Noah McDavid contributed 36 points off the bench for the Mustangs, who shot 54.2 percent from the field (39 of 72) and finished 14 of 27 from 3-point distance (51.9 percent). LaStrap scored 14 points, Svetozarevic pitched in 12, and McDavid added 10.
