WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State has won its last 10 games at D.L. Ligon Coliseum and is hosting Sul Ross State for the first time on Saturday afternoon. The Lobos joined the Lone Star Conference this season and have not played MSU since November of 1991.
The Mustangs improved their overall record to 10-3 and 6-2 in the LSC with an 82-53 victory over Western New Mexico on Thursday night.
Will Shepherd scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and
Reggie Hill finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
Mason Gibson, who scored 11 points against Western New Mexico, is the second-leading scorer in the Lone Star Conference with 17.4 points per game for the Mustangs.
Pierre Sanders is the second-leading scorer for Midwestern State with 11.5 points per game.
Sanders is shooting 49.6 percent from the field (56 of 113) for a team that is shooting 46.6 percent, which is sixth-best in the conference.
Bakari LaStrap has averaged 9.8 points per game and has played in the last five games after missing the start of the season due to injury.
Shepherd is contributing 9.2 points per game and has scored in double figures seven times this season.
Jonathan Jackson is pouring in 8.9 points per game for the Mustangs, shooting 44.6 percent (25 of 56) from beyond the arc, which is fourth-best in the LSC. Jackson is making 2.5 3-pointers per game, which is fifth-most in the conference.

Sul Ross State is averaging 65.7 points per game and opponents are scoring 78.6 points against the Lobos. The minus 12.9 scoring margin is the worst in the LSC The Lobos are the lowest scoring team in the league. In conference games, Sul Ross State has been outscored 84.4 – 62.0 on average.
