WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's Mere Escobar scored his 49th and 50th career goals, leading the Mustangs to a 2-0 win over No. 17 Southern Nazarene Saturday night at Stang Park.
The senior from Austin converted a pair of penalty kicks to move into sole possession of third place on MSU's all-time goal scoring list. He trails former MSU standouts Alvin Alexander (1975-78) and Kris Henderson (1987-90), who both totaled 58 career goals.
The Mustangs remained unbeaten at 3-0-2, while Southern Nazarene dropped to 3-2-1.
Midwestern State takes on West Texas A&M for a non-conference match Wednesday night at Stang Park. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
