DENTON, Texas --The Midwestern State volleyball team could not beat a potent Gorillas offense Friday at the Denton Volleyfest inside Kitty Magee Arena, falling to Pittsburg State in straight sets (23-25, 22-25, 19-25).
The non-conference loss dropped Midwestern State to 3-3 on the season.
The Mustangs were led by a double-double from Demi Stauffenberg, who registered 11 kills and 12 digs. Riley Rabedeaux also added seven kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Amy Dewalt chipped in 14 digs to go with two blocks from Gabrielle Oos.
Midwestern State closes play at the Denton Volleyfest with two matches Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs face Henderson State (Ark.) at 2 p.m., and Arkansas-Fort Smith at 7.
